| Leigh Centurions have announced their 19-man squad ahead of the Kingstone Press Championship Round 12 fixture against Halifax at LSV on Sunday (3pm).
Ben Reynolds comes into the squad after completing his loan spell at Doncaster and Fuifui Moimoi and Tom Armstrong also return after injury and suspension respectively.
This is the last opportunity for Leigh Centurions fans to see their favourites in action at LSV until the Round 18 fixture against Sheffield Eagles on 21 June while the pitch undergoes its annual period of maintenance and repair.
There will be one minute’s silence before kick-off in memory to the Keighley Cougars and former Halifax player Danny Jones who tragically passed away last Sunday. A bucket collection will also be held with all donations going to the fund set up by RL Cares in his name.
The Centurion matchday magazine will be on sale as usual, 48 pages packed with news, views, features and historical articles for £2.50. Jamie Acton is this week’s featured player in Set of Six.
Tom Boardman, thought to be Leigh Centurions’ oldest season ticket holder will celebrate his 97th birthday on the day and will be a guest of the club. Tom’s father Ernie played for Leigh when they defeated Halifax 13-0 in the 1921 Challenge Cup Final.
The squad is as follows: 1 Gregg McNally, 3 Greg Worthington, 4 Tom Armstrong, 5 Liam Kay, 6 Martyn Ridyard, 7 Ryan Brierley, 8 Fuifui Moimoi, 9 Bob Beswick, 10 Oliver Wilkes, 12 Tommy Goulden, 13 Sam Barlow, 15 Jonny Pownall, 17 Ben Reynolds, 19 Kurt Haggerty, 20 Sam Hopkins, 21 Jamie Acton, 22 Andrew Dixon, 23 Martin Aspinwall, 27 Lewis Foster.

| It's good to see Ben Reynolds back and in the 19.

| Reynolds back in the squad gives us the opportunity to rest either Riddy or Ryan, especially as we are only playing Fax and not one of the better teams in the league.

The bolded players are who I see as the difference between the sides. You could replace the rest of the players with run of the mill championship players but as long as you had those 6 players in the team you would probably still have the best team in the league. It could be a long afternoon for us Sunday.

| I doubt 8 Fuifui Moimoi will play a big a part, returning from injury. The one player that will again stand out which you dont mention is 9 Bob Beswick,he will be one that wears your forwards down as you don't have an answer to him.

| Greg McNally is comfortably the most skilful full back in the competition and could easily slot in to most super league teams IMO.

| Seems odd ro bring Reynolds back as I can't see where we'd play him and would imagine that he'd go back out on loan but that now means it's another month before we can call him back. Assume it must mean that either Ryan or Riddy isn't quite 100%.

| He's not going to win any 100 metre sprints but he has a decent turn of pace and he always seems to make the right pass at the right time.

Never good enough for SL but you may be right on most skillful FB in this league although IMO he is probably not even in the top 3 FB's in this league. Rowley was still chasing Fieldhouse till a few weeks before his injury FWIW.
As for Beswick he is very good at what he does but I do not really rate him and never did when he was at Fax but thats probably down to my preference in hookers. I always preferred Penky and given one of my favourite Halifax players was Rowley I do prefer the more 'explosive' hookers to steady eddies.
