43 Years ago today

Think I was in Trafalgar Square up to about 1 30pm.

Well, I was there - of course !

What a day .... and what a season it was.

Still got my rosette (remember them ?) somewhere and I remember that the barrow boys on Wembley Way were charging 10p for a can of coke ! We thought that it was exorbitant at the time.

At about this time I was clinging on to my Uncles head, as he carried me on his shoulders down Wembley Way, so I could see everything going on.

We had one or two stumbles along the route he said it was because I was heavy, my Auntie said it was due to something else.

At home. I was only 18 months old

I had the rosette and a scap book i made with all the cuttings and pictures in from the press, years later i gave them all to my nephew who now is a Wigan fan asked him for them back but he said i binned them. hope he rots in hell

Section G or was it H at Wembley.... I was only 8 at the time but I'm sure it was all terraces?

at 15.39 i was watching Ferguson steal a yard and kick that magnificent goal

I was born in October of the year we won the championship. In my lifetime we've won neither of the big two comps.

I was having to work at Boots in Atherton, my boss wouldn't let me have time off. I spent the afternoon watching TV on the telly shop next door as the town was deserted

Well we had a good few seasons but just after the Final Murphy left and went to Wire and it went downhill for a bit.

I was at Hilton Park for a game against Hull FC our lowest ever league crowd it was either 447 or 453.

Then not long after along came John Woods and Alec came back.

Taking the dog for a walk with my Grandma !!!!
Remember the open top bus parade, we went to Hilton Crescent in Boothstown, where it set off from !
