Quote: unfit for purpose "As fans, when Neil Hudgell slammed the RFL for being "unfit for purpose" and making "a number of inconsistent decisions", we agreed wholeheartedly.'"

I could agree with that. Good start. Inconsistent decisions stink! Where do I sign??

Quote: unfit for purpose "To prove his point, the Hull KR chairman compared the dangerous throw by three Widnes players on Richard Whiting, and the less dangerous throw by Justin Poore. The three Widnes players were let off with a caution, as the disciplinary committee couldn't determine a culprit, however Justin was banned for three games.'"

That's weak supporting evidence. The incidents list hardly proves Mr HKR's Chairman's point. It sounds like an unfair decison. Yet, as any parent will vouch, if you can't tell who the culprit is, then it's difficult to hand out substantial punishment. Sometimes things just aren't fair because they can't be.

Quote: unfit for purpose "The disciplinary committee appear to have a remarkably blatant bias against Hull KR and Hull FC alike, and the incidents above are just the tip of the iceberg.'"

Woah, woah, woah. Woah.

Well. What can I say? That's a big accusation to throw considering you have presented us with virtually no evidence to support your claim. I'm sure there will be some juicy stuff coming up next to support your claim, because after all, this is 'just the tip of the iceburg'.

Quote: unfit for purpose "Many of us current fans and any potential fans of Rugby League, are being driven away from the sport due to the appalling state of the committee. We would simply like for the disciplinary committee to be transparent, consistent and be independent.'"

Ah. Maybe not then. No more evidence.

I'm afraid I can't put my name against that nonsense.

I may be off my head, but at least I've attempted to do something about the RFL. Many people complain about dodgy decisions or inconsistency, yet never appear to try and do anything about it.

Michael, you have some good points there, why don't you just rewrite it as you obviously know more about petitioning and Rugby League than I do? I'm not being sarcastic either as I know it isn't that good a petition. I just wanted to get the ball rolling and maybe inspire somebody else to organize a boycott or a petition or whatever..

No you haven't, if you came in with a financed plan to move the game forward you would have, all hudgell wanted was ring fence sl and more money

Come on now, be honest who is " being driven away from the sport" because a few disciplinary decisions haven't gone the way they wanted? Restructure the disciplinary committee how? What specifically do you want done?

Quote: colesy99 "Read the petition.'"

Yes, I did that.

I don't do either anyway, so no loss to me, but I don't see how it could benefit the sport in any way.

The petition reads:

"I think the game is run badly, and if I don't get my way, then I'm going to try to restrict income to the game'.

Please explain how you think this will improve the game? I'm not convinced that the RFL Disciplinary Comittee would take threats like that well... The extension of the idea is that St Helens fans would boycott Sky and MW if they felt hard done by. Or maybe Wigan could tell their fans not to go to away matches as they had their appeal ignored.
And so it goes on.

Stupid idea... Is it not your bed time yet?

How does the petition read that? I'm not trying to restrict income, I'm not telling people to boycott anything, I'm just saying that is what is probably going to end up happening.
I and 158 others (not a very high number I know) are saying to the RFL that serious changes need to be made otherwise people are going to lose faith with it. The reason they haven't before (just saying this before anybody asks) is because the financial situation wasn't that bad, now it's getting worse and a lot of lower class fans are going to not see matches, as they'd rather spend any surplus cash on something that doesn't end up frustrating them.
