As I am sure you are all aware, on 5 November 2013 Leigh will host the above game as part of the RL World Cup. I hope the people of Leigh really get behind the game and fill the stadium, I think in the run up to the next round of franchising (if it still exists) it will be a brilliant chance for the town to showcase its potential!

No doubt this will trigger posts filled with the usual pessimism about the game and the World Cup itself, but despite the hopes of some 'fans' the organising committee seem to be doing a brilliant job so far. Has anyone got tickets yet?

I'm going, no doubt about it.

If you want to see some of the high calibre players who will be playing check out these:

Tonga: www.internationalrugbyleague.net/tonga.htm

Cook Islands: www.internationalrugbyleague.net/cookislands.htm

£10 a ticket!

Tonga: Was looking at the website last night, and suggest anyone who has doubts about the quality of the competition does the same. It is going to be brilliant!

Really, really would love to see Samoa play Tonga in front of a full house...

Look at their squad! 66-1 they are!

I was at that game, Jimmy Veikoso and Tau Liku were signed for us on the back of it. The crowd was announced as about 12k, but there was way, way, way more on. I've never known an atmosphere like it and it's up there with the best games i've ever seen, in fact i'm going to see if I can find a uTube video of it now for the IRL site.

What are Limerick doing specifically? Reckon you could do us a brief write up on it for the IRL news blog?

I have looked but to no avail, I am going to ask on the RL DVDs facebook group. Bit busy at the minute with uni work but sure I could do something one evening or at the weekend, will tweet you a picture of the article in a minute.

4 of us going - all being well - do you think we need to book early - like 11 months early! icon_eek.gif

Suppose the interest on the ticket sales money would come in handy icon_lol.gif

Am definately going, will be great game!.
Just hope that LSV/RFL show what they can do regarding promotion of the game, within the town and the media, as this is something i feel we've always lacked.

Pleasantly surprised to have not had one negative reply so far. Is there any other sport where the hardest part is selling it to your own fans? We really need everyone to get behind it as you say, this is a perfect opportunity to sell our sport to the masses as the first Olympic legacy event.

I think it would be brilliant if as a town Leigh got behind Tonga. The stadium has already proved it is a superb test venue, and seeing the LSV packed out under the floodlights with both old and new fans would be fantastic as part of the Super Leigh 2014 campaign.
