953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |

| According to reports this morning we are teaming up with Salford next season and under the new rules up to 6 (yes, 6) of the younger players can sign up on DC with us. Interested what people think and also if the reports are true an explanation of the choice of salford.

| If we were to be teamed up with anyone I’d like it to have been Warrington, both clubs seem to have benefited from the previous relationship. Thought I read somewhere that Rowley had said next season we were hoping to have only Leigh players?

1030.gif [quote="littlerich":1czuya0c]Widnes will be glad to get away from Leigh. They've been regularly pumped, roasted and left in the alley-way by the lobbygobblers. Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.[/quote:1czuya0c]:1030.gif |

Sounds like we're sailing closer and closer to Feeder club territory.

I agree with you glow, if we team up with anyone it should be Wire.

| Are these types of arrangements just loosly agreed? We have/had a partnership with Castleford didn't we at the start of this season but we've still had DC's from Wigan and Warrington.

Everything changes apparently next season. No U20s teams in SL? What happened to licensing improving player development

| They can't make us take them, can they.
All Champ clubs should refuse and then see what SL clubs do with there emerging stars - we should stick to bringing our own through

| Don't like the DC's myself full stop. They make clubs seem better than they actually are. If you think about it, the fact a SL club can take players back as and when they want which can change results depending on how influential that player is to the Championship club. Is that not match fixing?
and one other thing that does annoy me, which I can't get my head around why it still continues and that is a player or a coach being signed up for a different club for season after before his contract ends. Then you end up with players/coaches playing for Current club v Next club.

This.
I would assume that the choice of Salford is because of them training at the LSV by the way.
I know we had the tip of the iceberg with dual contracts, but this is a HUGE step in the wrong direction.

| Rugby League as a sport died to me when they scrapped P&L. This truly is the final nail in the coffin. I used to love this sport and the administrators have extinguished my passion. A very sad day.
I'd suggest there will be many fans who won't be happy watching Leigh City Reds.

Spot on with this post i am a fev fan and we never take on DC's which IMO is the best way to go.But like you have said alot of fans outside SL are ready to stop watching their clubs they have watched for years with the clowns at red hall killing our game. Also this feeder club thing will happen to every team outside of SL if the clowns get their way because they dont care about us they just want as much help from us as we can give to help SL teams ie Take their players on through the DC and make them better for{ THEM}.These players could'nt care less if leigh, fev, fax etc won anything they just want to get into their SL clubs team its getting to the point now where enough is enough this is the only league the clowns hav'nt touched and its the best league out of the two alot more competive than SL IMO.

I think it's unfair to generalise about D/C players. Just ask James Laithwaite what he thought at having to leave Leigh, to go to HKR, for instance.
