| Seems it. And at cheaper prices than usual. Can't get my head round it, on the whole.

| No,
Don't think we would've have got 1,000 on a Friday night for this fixture.
The Challenge Cup (like the league / NRC) is crying out for a revamp to stop this decline across all clubs.

| The debate on GMR I listend to going home told the story and todays attendance is on a par with all the other games that have been played this weekend. Five thousand for the Leeds Wakey game, three thousand for a merseyside derby. A challennge cup game. The shine seems to have gone off this comp for everyone not just Leythers so I wouldn't be too hasty to cancel further sunday games. I was livid at some of the comments by Jack and the others tonight. They are developing SL blnkers just like fans of SL clubs. Can no one see that untill P&R is reinstated and the gap between the two top leagues is reduced then the staleness that is growing in SL and this comp can't be reversed. The thinking has gone back to how the game was run before the crazy gang took over. "Well this is all we've got now so we have to keep going with it". No it's not and not took take a periodic look at any business is a recipe for decline. The "we have a fantastic product that needs no changes" approach is absolute tripe.

| Much as I hate to say it, I think it's one of the last few coffin nails for the Challange Cup, rather than Sunday RL.
Compare our two major competitions: Super League - regular fixtures, lots of air time, lots of publicity.
Challenge Cup - a dozen or so fixtures fitted in apparently at random between two broadcasters, neither of which will plug the other.
That's the major issue there, it's an exact parallel for the football League Cup - and apparently the FA Cup too? - a once meaningful trophy is now sidelined for the glory of regular televised fixtures.

Yesterday's CC game was all to pay, juniors excepted.

That is correct, the day it was played is not the issue. Unattractive fixture against a lower division team.

| Have widnes gone into super league a stronger club because they went in on a franchise - no.
Are the teams at the foot of super league any stronger because they can build for the future without the fear of relegation - no.
Are the clubs at the top end of the championship greatly weakened by not having p&r - yes.
It is plain to me. The removal of p&r was the biggest backwards step ever for rugby league in the uk.

| Didn't attend yesterday, and before I opened this thread I had a figure of 1200 in my head, so this doesn't appear to be a bad attendance at all IMO.
As said previously the attendances in the challenge cup are somewhat dire generally at this stage of the comp, will build up nicely when we get to the semis

| Challenge cup attendances this round were all poor:-
Bradford v Donny 3210
Hull v hudds 8327
HULL KR v Cats 7000
Hunslet v Batley 664
Keighley v Wire 2196
Leigh v Rochdale 1229
London v Dewsbury 652
Oldhame v Barrow 773
Haven V Salford 751
Wigan v N wales 4198
York v Sheffield 551
All were Bad, except the two Hull clubs , who are now out, unless some tasty fixtures come out expect the next round s to be worse.
