Widnes won't mind. Whitehaven are training there tomorrow and the Crusaders-Halifax game is being played there on Sunday. They will be coining it in during a cold spell!

Elbows and knee pads = very expensive pitch relay. You can't have a surface that is completely different from the others.

The pitch ' plays ' fine, the only team to suffer will be Widnes, having your knees bloodied every other week wont be good for them, then again, it will probably be down on their list of problems

Yes they do, although plenty of other sides train on similar surfaces without much complaint. I'm sure the grazes can be solved by a bit of Vas on the elbows and knees - as others have said, it's not that much different from a dry, hard pitch in summer.

Looked great, but half the players had elbows and knees covered in blood. Looked like they had been playing on sand paper!! Least we know what the I in Ipitch stands for now.... Injury

its the same concept as the pitches ont east. no problems when the pitch is damp or wet but when it dry as a bone either through frost or hot weather they become skin shredding! am sure the solution to the problems of grazing would be to lightly spray the pitch before the game and half time to give the surface a slick feel!

Have Widnes not shot themselves in the foot by having a lightning quick pitch when they'd be better of with a mud bath?

They're going to take some hammerings this year.

They be ok when Watts,Phelps,Kite,Flynn,Davies,and Briscoe are back.Alex Brown should get a chance as he is fast as lightening.I don't know much about the pitch, but will it be better in the summer and a bit of water.Maybe vests be good to wear.
