2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg

I am assuming only the west stand is open for Swinton games as only one price is advertised, £15. However if bought before 12 on Sat 18th their early bird takes the price to 12 quid. They must have a damn good deal with the LSV

Very interesting and can only assume they're banking on a lower price to offset the cost of travelling. Their money, their risk.

Explanation from whom Derek? I doubt Swinton or the LSV will give you one, and how can Leigh comment on a deal they have had no part in.

From anyone who might know, that's a big difference considering they have the same visiting teams as us and is the same level of rugby.

Presumably it will leave a similarly big difference in their finances!

Are you for real?? Leigh pay the LSV a percentage of their gate receipts from each game and thus by charging more than Swinton both Leigh & the LSV get an increased revenue per supporter assuming Swinton have the same deal as we do.
Surely by now you realise the problems Leigh have had as a club by undercharging for tickets and giving early bird discounts - if not wake up and smell the coffee. If Swinton are on a mission to be bust by Easter they seem to be well on the way to achieving it, our break even crowd is 1800 remember and they attracted several of our players by paying higher wages. Charging lower admission prices can only be a death knell as they will only exceed 1,000 fans once this season and we all know who that will be against.

I would hazard a guess that Swinton don't have the imediate depts that we have so can charge a little less or like someone has said a backer is funding it to attract spectators to their games. Not really bothered but I hope they don't fall into financial trouble over it.

Yes I am for real. Was not having a go at Leigh and do not think I deserve your criticism. The question I asked is the question that will be asked by people who perhaps think 'i would like to watch some rugby this week, now it could be Leigh v Hunslet for 16 quid or Swinton v Feb for 12 quid.

I have no need to defend my question to you but I decided I needed to explain. Believe me I won't be thinly one asking

In which case what is the relevance of your original question in terms of what do you want explaining?

Each club is able to set its own admission charges, irrespective of where they play. If in the case of Leigh & Swinton that is from a ground neither club owns, then obviously the landlord will have some input and an agreed way to collect a rent for the facility.

Ignoring what Swinton want to charge for admission, the Leigh break even figure is 1,800 through the turnstiles based on our pricing, the only difference being we also use the North Stand. The fact remains though Swinton will also need at least the same crowd to break even based on their cheaper ticketing and nobody in the right mind thinks they can achieve even close to that figure and thus Mr Kidds wallet is going to take a pounding this year.

What is the relevance of anything on these boards. Only asking a question, the answer I got was 'are you stupid or what'. This board is certainly the place to be if you enjoy being called stupid and in some posters cases abused.

FYI I know all the figures you have used, but I plead for your forgiveness at pointing out what some people will see and ask. I hope you can still see your way to helping our club survive. The forecast comp link is in the sticky at the top of the page. With a name like the Prophet, it should be a walk in the park for you icon_wink.gif

It's a fair question Derek but I've got faith in the board that we're charging £16 for a very good reason and not risking the club's financial situation any further by shaving a few quid of entry prices for very little increase in attendance.

But if people take up the early ticket offer then it is £14, if people don't then that's up to them for whatever reason they give or have, but again Derek you have asked a question that can't be answered on here as I would hazard a guess people on here wouldn't know - for the reasons I gave earlier, now if it was a rhetorical question you asked do you really expect a real answer or a rhetorical one if you get my drift, rhetorically that is of course icon_wink.gif
