Im hated by bradford,halifax and leeds councils for successfully appealing about 20 in total this year !!!
And i love it,you need to ask for the TRO and also check yourself if all the signs and road markings are correct,often they are wrong.

But you would be shocked at how many illegal places you can park without getting a ticket.
The council has a legal responsibility to mark roads correctly to the letter of the law,signs etc and the TRO has to be correct.
For eg a row of pay and display outside 1 of my places of work has an error on the latest amendment to the TRO and states monday to friday instead of monday to sat.I got a ticket and appealed it no probs.
A helpfull ceo says they wont amend it to the correct wording due to cost.
Obviously i park free now on a sat and seem to be the only one who doesnt pay.lol.
I know its sad but when power crazed ceos start giving you grief regular its so good to get one over them.
Most councils even dismiss every appeal even when they know its legally incorrect because the 1st appeal is classed as informal,when you appeal at NTO stage they cave in.
Once you get under the skin and win a few they get to know that you know the law and bingo more success.
Oh and yes i know im sad but honestly when i get told one thing that i know is wrong it gets my back up.
Halifax town centre within the CPZ has this year spent upwards of £10,000 on correcting road markings after i pointed out more than 12 roads that were wrong and being iegally enforced upon.
This once again was after i received a ticket for unloading on a single yellow just because i was in a car and not a van !

I always park there when I go to the club. I m not going to pay it and see what happens.

The Watcher would suggest that, that would be the worst possible choice of any action you could choose.

Lynda if it's an 'official' Wigan MBC ticket I'd advice payment if it's by a third party company (like Leigh East users used to get) then have a look around the internet for advice, Wigan MBC official tickets can require you (rather like a police issued one) to provide details of the vehicles driver at the time of parking (as they are responsible NOT the owner), a third party company can't, only request you provide details. DO NOT refer to it as 'MY CAR' only as a company vehicle, as I'm assuming it is registered to your company? Also have agood look at what you have been ticketed for and go back and take pictures of all signage and road markings etc. Also make no more comments on here other people also read these boards if you get my 'drift'.

If it's a council parking ticket, then either appeal it or pay up.
If it's a private parking firm, then like Fred suggest check the internet for advice on private parking notices. Also there is a clip from Watchdog on you tube about private parking tickets.
