We need to come together more than ever. The club is stricken, there is no white knight on the horizon. Everyone has to club together, show some Leyther spirit, put tonight behind us and move forward.

The next few weeks are so important. Whoever comes in as new boss must receive backing, whoever signs for us must be welcomed. Whoever moves on must be thanked.

Tonight is the start of our future.

Initially its going to be cloudy, even stormy, but with the pluses of a number of young players coming through the ranks, a scholarship/apprenticeship in connection with a local college, a passionate fanbase, people who care deeply about the club, new professional support group, the future could brighten up.

You dont need to sign big names in this league to win things......... have a look around this league at players who have been released/out of contract - plent around to bring us success next season and improve the squad.

If we dont support the club through this difficult time then we wont have a club to support.

Like your style Dave. I'm with you. Somehow we have to elevate this club, to a position where it is no longer attractive for the Ian Millward's to have to move on to the likes of Castleford. (no disrespect intended to a great club)

Some geat things are planned, but we need the continued backing of all the very loyal fans that we have got, before we can move onwards and upwards.

Good to hear the positive approach. Hope we can soon know some of the 'great things' to stem the flow of vitriol arising from last night's deserved defeat.

If we can get some sort of money for the club and players who want to play for Leigh, they will show fight and commitment who knows what they can acheive!

Don't wish to rain on your parade Dave but I think that next year will be desperately hard. We have hard a good season but next season certainly holds no guarantees and we may well have to settle for mid season obscurity. How does this reflect on the ability to bring new fans in? Answer-badly. In conjunction with the anticipated performance you also have to factor in a couple of other ingredients:

1. Money. It's scarce and people who don't already have the Leigh bug may find it difficult to spend hard earned money on what may be a mediocre second division club, especially when:

2. There are plenty of SL teams within a 5-7 mile journey who will have top quality players on show for not much more gate money. Anyone new to the game or who has youngsters that they want to take may well go for the more glittering option.

So yes the fight must start now but let's not believe that we should be fighting to achieve greatness all at once. Let's build slowly from the bottom with a sound club playing good rugby built around youth with some older experience. Let's make people enjoy the club, not just the games and let's think about what the club can do for the fans not just the other way round.

Having said that I haven't had a season ticket for a couple of years but am enthused enough to probably come back next season.

Yes it does , and to that end I will be donating the cost of what would have been my Championship GF ticket to the club next week , I normally attend the Championship finals as a neutral , but I feel that at this moment in time , our need is greater than giving the RFL some more money to waste

We were chatting last night and have decided to hold an end of the season party at a pub in Leigh on October 2nd.

Belting idea. Our lot are already planning on turning out for the game anyway & I'm sure others will be thinking the same, so it'd be fantastic if LISA could also benefit at the same time. And I'm sure you could encourage at least a few people to do what Frank suggested and donate the GF ticket price to LISA.
