If you was a director of the Club and a Local businesman and you suddenly came into a lot of money would you put some of this money into the club to solve our short term money troubles???

Probably not in all honesty. Without a chance of promotion, there isn't much chance of a decent return on the money they put in. At the level of rugby we are playing we will never get much bigger crowds than we are getting now. So what are the investors getting for their spend?

We need someone like AT who is willing to spend big style on his hobby. Knowing he is unlikely to ever get a return on his spend. There can't be too many people round Leigh who fit into that category though, so I'd settle for one big money man (or woman). There was a very nice Mercedes in the carpark on Sunday by the way with a personalised registration plate - a number then BET.
Wonder who that was. Could have been one of the Dewsbury directors I suppose but I've never seen it at Leigh before.

A return in what way ? , glory of being battered every week in SL , or in monetary terms ?

We have no choice other than to increase our attendances at our current level , we just have to find a way to do it

I hope we can attract a money man, but i think we need to have a plan B, a few other backers would be good too. Im sure the club are working their ar$es off to find new backers. i have faith!

If I was a businessman looking to invest in Leigh, what would I currently get for my money? We have to have the goal of SL or we may as well pack in.
Unfortunately I don't think we can significantly increase our crowds as it stands. We currently have a world class coach, the best team we have had for years, we're playing (on the whole) attacking rugby, but a wet, Sunday afternoon against Dewsbury isn't going to attract the lapsed or the new.

i personally think we can increase the crowds, even though we are playing in the lower league a sucessful Leigh team will defo bring in fans. I think it would help with a few more local teams in our league

I don't wish to be negative, but just realistic. I really can't see us increasing the crowds more as things stand. The team couldn't be much more successful than it has been this season. Top of the League, almost certainly in the NR Cup Final, ran catalans very close in the cup. We start off the season with the NR Cup which is of no interest to anyone until at least the QF stage. Thrilling early round games against Swinton etc. are not going to bring the crowds back. Then with no promotion the league and the play offs don't really mean much. If we get to the GF we then meet the criteria, it doesn't matter if we win or lose. There must have been 6000 Leigh fans at Widnes when we beat Whitehaven to get into SL. We could get back to that level of support, but not with the current RL set up. Most of that is outside of our control unfortunately.

we wont get anywhere near 6000 unless we are in SL, i think we could aim for 2500-3000 though. If we do get to blackpool then i would be happy with 3000- 3500 leythers there.

I do agree about the P&R it will almsot kill everybodys crowds, For example Leigh v Widnes grand final and we but 50+ on them yet their fans still celebrate at the end because they already are in SL

I don't think we'll get 2500-3000 Leigh fans on a regular basis the ways things stand. I would hope for 3000 for the NR Cup Final, especially if it's a nice weekend weather wise. If we do get 3000 it will at least prove the market is there. They just need to be provided with a product they thing is worth watching.

if (we cant under estimate dewsbury)we get to the final theres a big chance to get the fans on board.if we can win it and win it well would be interesting if we say take 3000-3500 to the final how many show up to the next home league game.
gotta paint the town red and white and like said before on here get it noticed in shops and pubs etc.ask town centre shops or get a roll on stall on market selling banners and flags etc

car flags and stuff is a great idea, sell them for the final (if we get there) Then next year have them half price when a season ticket is purchased or something along them lines

If you are accepting that we will never draw more than 2,500/3,000 in the Championships then you are also accepting we are not and never will be a viable SL club
