Their are no 'rules' in rugby league administration, just flexible mutual arrangements.

Is it not just an exemption though as Mason is waiting on a Tongan passport so will not be classed as overseas once it is through. I don't think as you are suggesting you can swap and change the registration every week depending on who you want to play!

Why not, you could get all your overseas players to apply for South Sea passports, whether or not the qualify and just say you are waiting for it to be ratified. If his Visa is not based on his Tongan passport then does he have to get another one when it is through. Something does not sound right, it was months ago he had tea with the Tongan Prime Minister.

All it needs is for one of the 'big teams' to nip in and sign Dobson, while he is no longer registered as a Hull KR player!

Thats right. The RFL byelaws state if an overseas player is de-registered, he cannot be re-registered in the same season.....................................................without the permission of the board ie. yet another pointless byelaw

HKR, he is still contracted to HKR for his wages. He just cannot play.

So they cant re - register him to play this season even when hes fit,but they will still have to pay his wages for the season ?.Big willy hasn't come for peanuts so i'm guessing HKR are well within the SC.

I reckon ONLY registered players wages count on the SC, but I'm sure someone will know if thats right, as I don't......wonder if the RFL can answer that question

Good on Hull KR for finding this loophole, thats the trouble with having a rubbish set up clubs find the loopholes quite easily, HKR will continue to pay Dobsons wages but if he gets a better offer elsewhere then......

Logic say your right ,the rfl and hkr have bent,twisted or changed the rule "or to be polite" done a deal to allow dobson to play again this season, but if thats not the case then hkr will be in the market for another halfback because they've had a crap start to the season,this then 'possibly' brings the SC into play again.
