| A mate of mine told me that the club is going to launch a range of brand new leisurewear - Polos, Jackets and T shirts etc… and a new online facility ready for the start of the season. I have already bought the new hoody from the ticket office at the LSV and I love it!

| I heard the same, I like the O'Neills gear, got the odd polo top and play football in training gear and I think the quality's really good.

| I agree with jonny, the quality is superb. I have a couple of tops that have taken some stick and they are holding up really well compared with previous suppliers. The longer we stay with o'neills the better.

| I slated the home top and now i've seen it in the flesh I like it, i'm getting the away though. As much as I like the home top, I can't deny that a ginger should never wear red.

| Open a general sports shop, and don't even call it Leigh Centurions, or even promote it as official club shop - sell football/rugby related items with Leigh Centurions stuff too.
I think people in the know have pointed out that a shop would lose money selling just Centurions gear, and getting Asda or whoever to sell ours would be too much of a hassle wouldn't it considering how many we would sell with Asda's cut.
We do need something though because its difficult to track down a shirt/polo's as a impulse buy at moment.

im pretty sure they didnt GIVE them to asda
Also dont "scrum down under" stock centurions stuff now? thats in the town centre so why rent a huge shop like the ex-streetwise sports shop.
Its in a prime spot and hence will have a large rent to go with it.
Also what exactly would you fill that huge shop floor with?
just not a realistic option.

Maybe the professional club could learn from their amateur neighbours, last week was christmas FFS!!! not much point bringing new designs at the start of February.
Same with the away strip, 'Available to purchase before the Warrington game' was the message at the Salford match. Why was this not sorted at the beginning of November??? and scores of kids could be opening their presents on christmas morning with a new shirt.
Bradford had 4000 shirts delivered at the beginning of November, i'm not saying we are on par, but they obviously they will sell close to this number. How many would they have had, if they were not ready in time for christmas??
As there was no polo shirts on the web site, i though i would visit the club early on match day last week and have a gander. There was a fold up table at the back of the Legends Bar, nothing on coat hangers... nothing. Just a could for odds and ends folded up in their wrappers. Not much selling technique!!
We need to get out act together, there is a sports shop only 500 yards down the by pass (head office only 10 miles away) and what are there chances of getting anything with a Leigh badge on..... It is important to sort out as much money coming into the club as possible in this current climate. It has also been spoke about for at least 2 years about tying up with ASDA but nothing yet..
Thoughts please..

| ASDA was always a non starter they require too much self proffit
Running any 'shop' in todays climate is difficult it would have to be staffed etc and there is a good outlet in 'ScrumDown Under' in the town centre, who are also a club sponsor, it has been looked at and has been decided it wouldn't be profitable at this time.
The 'table' in the Legends Bar and i'm not knocking any volunteers attempt to assist the club here, was always going to be a small affair and was used as primarily a quick outlet for the sale of replicas
The away strip design was only changed mid November so getting replicas out by Xmas was a non starter and a board desision was made to concentrate on the 'home' replica first
Large stocks are also a non starter 1 due to lack of 'upfront' cash as they are not sale or return 2 lack of any main storage facility and 3 lack of staff to actually sell the stuff
A 'Leigh Rugby' shop has never made money and never will unless ALL the championship clubs (and Im borrowing Starbugs idea here) get together and either force a good deal with a manufacturer or start their own company up as a collective to purchase/manufacture their own brand of goods, because in the main non of them make enough money to stay alone in this business of selling club merchandise.
As for anything with a Leigh Badge if meaning the club 'logo'? a deal was tied in with the kit manufacturer to make and sell all club clothing, they (not Leigh Centurions) then decided to close the outlet.
