Referees are like women, they make snap decisions and never reverse them.
Littlerich wrote Widnes will be glad to get away from Leigh. They've been regularly pumped, roasted and left in the alley-way by the lobbygobblers. Talk about being bitched - what a torrid time they've had. They'll be looking for some A&E rest time for the next three years at least.:simpsons/PDT13.gif |

| 6pm kick off in the Welsh village of Neath against the bottom of the table was hardly going to attract a decent crowd

| No Fred it goes to show what a bunch of wallies follow the instructions of the people who run this game. And I used the word "people" because I would be banned for using the words that truly feel reflect my feelings for them.

| Whilst not a big fan of crowd figures for other clubs (prefer to know if the match was a good un) I'm sure the
Crusaders got higher gates in the Championship than that(admittedly it was a completely different team that "won" a franchise).
Whilst not wishing to see any club booted out of SL (as it will be certain bankrupcy unless major parachute payments arn't activated IMO) one does wonder how any talk of Crusaders leaving SL has been pretty much avoided in favour of Wakefield , Castleford and Salford.
In affect I'd imagine the RFL will have seen them offer little return from what they promised to set out to do under the terms of the franchise they got awarded.
If they do remain in SL (as seems likely) then playing at Wrexham should be a priority and leave South Wales to the Championship 1 side.

why make excuses for them. Last season Bridgend & some games in Neath, was going to be a success. And was it Keiron Cunningham who said "the welsh love their rugby league", they don't in Wrexham, and especially in Bridgend/Neath.
THE RFL will make no comment on this LOWEST EVER SOOPER DOOPER LEAGUE CROWD !

| As someone who has been to a Crusaders game at Wrexham, I can safely say that they [ido[/i enjoy their rugby league there and, to be honest, I thought it was great to hear the Taffs so enthusiastic about 'our' game. I think it'd be a bit hypocritical for us to be getting the pitchforks out for the Crusaders when, realistically, how many would we expect to attract in a similar situation?

Leeeigh Leeeigh, you must be Richard Lewis. Yet again you show your support for the RL - you are on your own pal. Get real and understand that whatever the RL are doing is killing off clubs like ours. When 'expansion' sees the end of clubs like Leigh who will you support? I will never watch another game in my life if that happens.
After this weeks reports about us not being allowed to run a scholarship and the criteria re: the next SL applications you continue to support the RL's expansion ideas when clubs like ours struggle to raise funds. Some of our fans walk miles to raise a few quid to keep our club afloat while the 'kn@3 eds' who run the game take home a massive salary, larger than the PM's for doing 4k all and they pump thousands of pounds into London, France & Wales. I have hated SL from day 1 and have thought about walking away from rugby league many times but being a Leigh fan is in my blood and I will support them as long as they exist.
Fact is that Crusaders got 1122 fans stop defending them. They are receiving money that we could benefit from.

| FYI- Crusaders fans were disgusted at the change to the kick off time only last week from Saturday to 6pm(!) on a Friday night. It wasn't the club it was Neath RU. Most of the 1122 had to take Friday afternoon off work at short notice. It was part of the agreement of the move to Wrexham to play 2 games in Neath. Hopefully next season all the games will be at Wrexham with a regular match day and kick off time. Was announced yesterday that the average attendance so far this season is 5209 with St Helens and Hull KR still to come. Pretty good for a first season in a new area!
It is rubbish to say there is no interest in RL in Wales, last week - besides the Crusaders winning - the South Wales Scorpions beat Oldham at Oldham and the Crusaders U18s beat Hull U18s at Hull. Now that at last the Welsh media is giving more coverage to the Cru and Scorpion results more people will get on board. The regular fans at Wrexham are as passionate and enthusuastic as any in the 'heartlands'. Yes I am worried about the situation at Leigh when a crowd of only 1600 or so turn up after the cracking win at Widnes. What's all that about?
I have watched rugby league for 40 years and support the game from amateur to international, but what Brian Noble has achieved at the Crusaders since January is tremendous when he had to cobble together a team at short notice with little resources.
It's the RFL who made the decision to give the licence to the Crusaders last time and I can't see that changing next time either after what they have achieved. So give them a break! Looks like Wakey might lose out.
Just hope Leigh get a franchise too.
