| Well reading the comments of some on here it would seem that they think a strong SL means a strong RL, now deluded is that? don't they know that if the roots are dead/dying then nthe main 'plant' can't survive.
This latest fiasco is all about saving SL sides money by nurturing their late developers only to have them snatched away at a whim, (e.g. Hemmingway and the three Widnes had) just when they are needed most.
The only saving grace with the dual contracts are that if they are allowed to come back then they will be still registered (I think/hope).

Not being funny here because it is a genuine question.....Do clubs have to take the players ? If they don't then surely they are all in on this plan to destroy our comp.

Good point! I always got feeling when we had players on loan from Wigan we HAD to play them, as at the time Tomkins and Gleeson (until home game with Leigh ) added nothing to our side and we droppoed in form players!
I presume it's justif you want them and we don't this week there yours, if not - no worries!

| Wigan INSIST that any players on loan to another club play 1st team, as do many other SL clubs.
The players on a dual contract are NOT loan players, the clue is in the 'Dual contract'

TBH you can't blame then though!
Ferguson does same with Man Utd and makes sure a club that wants to loan one of his lads is the right club and have a key spot for him aswell!

So you can't blame clubs for not wanting them , you are potentially getting an unmotivated player lacking confidence and very unhappy with being sent out on loan/dual registration
You are also restricting your coach with regards him developing a team spirit and game plans
And what are you doing to your own players confidence be they senior or junior , displaced by this ' this weeks superstar ' ?

| I'll ask again - Do Championship clubs have to sign these dual contract players ?
Everything can't be the governing body fault all the time. Why are Rochdale signing up with Bradford ? It must benefit them too surely.

What i'm thinking as it's not a 'loan' which would be on basis as above they prob don't have to be played etc.
But who decides who's going on dual contracts??? How many etc etc.

I would think the benefit to them is they'll in theory get players who are better than they can normally afford, but as with Hemmingway were will it leave you when their re-called?

| Rochdale should benefit from this deal as well then.
I don't know if its similar to football but players being recalled from loan deals happens as well.
I suspect this is another storm in a tiny tea cup. IMO

No they don't.
However most clubs will sign em.
The effect of that is a club could field 2 completley different teams from different sets of SL clubs in March to say September.
The RFL know club chairmen in the championships will have to go with this as they know that at least 1 club will so the rest follow like lemmings, it forces the others to do if they want to remain competitive.
Basically it'll be Championship clubs fielding SL players who would have played A team Rugby if that level had still existed.
Unless properley regulated I don't think it'll be good news for Championship RL long term, possibly excellant news for SL clubs with big squads of players.
