Now I know he's not been in the job for long but we have become worse under him. The players don't seem motivated to play at all and our heads drop too easily. We have no leader on the field to lift us and judging by our second half performance no leader off it either.

I have to question his tactics. He states in his interview, he wants the players to express themselfs and give them the chance to. Are you coaching them to pass the ball once and run with it, and do this for 4 tackles and then kick down the throat of the full back? Why have we no ideas when attacking? Why aren't players running up in support and showing a willingness to break a tackle.

I'm no coach but I can see that physically and mentally we are weak, our one on one tackling is terrible and the amount of yards the opposition make against us is twice the amount we manage.

The team selection was baffling, no Mort at all? Ridyard isn't upto standard, why no Durbin (earlier off the bench) or Marsh? Where was Nanyn? Instead we have a second rower playing in the centres. He's got it all wrong and we have shown nothing but decline since he took over. I cannot see us moving forward or winning many more games with the way things are.

Think it's going to be long, painful and drawn out.

One thing summed it up to me today.

Castle storms through and we've not go one player within 15 yards of him. I could watch East under 11's next Sunday and there will be kids backing up.

That tells me we've got used to nobody breaking a tackle, and players who should be there stood on the back foot not doing their job.

Or watching from the sideline?

No disrespect to Gateshead, we were beaten by a much better side, but Leigh Miners could have beaten us today.
Im not one to call for the coaches head, but, the team has shown no signs of improvement, quite the opposite in fact. Weve very few ideas going forward, the defence is non-existent, but worst of all, we dont show any spirit, any desire, any fight, any pride.
I dont want to single out any players for criticism, they know who they are. But I will say that Nioky Stanton tried hard, he came inside looking for the ball, and made decent yardage when he did get it. Ian Watson was the only one that showed he had any ideas. I know that hes come in for a lot of criticism, alot of it undeserved, but I dread to think where we would be without him.
What we need to do now is build for the next two seasons, theyre the crucial ones. Forget the playoffs, even if we qualify, we wont get to the final, let alone win it. We need to make sure we dont go down, like it or not, we could quite easily get drawn into a relegation battle. We need to get a good coaching team together, and target the players we need to put us into a position where can make a strong challenge for an SL franchise. If we dont do that NOW, we will have to wait at least 5 years.
