Think also of the interest in Newcastle's relegation.

What an opportunity for this level of excitement to be created in RL has been missed!

Yeah brill - I lived in Burnley for quite a while and even though it is the town from hell, they're very passionate about their football - so well done to them.

I hope they go straight back down.

Why?

Imagine that! A huge crowd watching a revitalised sleeping giant ascend to the top flight by sole virtue of their on-field achievements... could never happen to Hull KR, Huddersfield, Hull, Wigan, Wakefield, Cas, Bradford... oh, correction... it did, but it could never happen again.

Sorry Leigh, Widnes, Fax, Whitehaven, Fev, Sheffield, Workington, Barrow, Rochdale, Oldham, Swinton, Dewsbury, Hunslet... your Burnley moment has been postponed indefinitely.

do the FA not realise promotion and relegation will never work and could be the death nell for the game.i am sure if they contact the rugby football league they will be only to happy to put things right,and who knows maybe one day football will prosper just like rugby league.long live richard lewis our saviour.

I'd rather be playing Burnley next season than Newcastle.
When we was in the wilderness outside PL Burnley was a certainty for a win looking back.

I am still puzzled tho how comparison to football keeps being made for keeping P&R, but the comparison in lack of interest is not mentioned in play off games etc.

Quite right. Can you imagine the feeling of Burnley fans after todays game and the couldn,t care less attitude of the Sheffield Utd fans who really didn,t give tuppence about the result as they lost. Had the result been the other way around it would have just been the same for Burnley fans.

Isn,t promotion and relegation daft? How can any teams supporters want that ? Where,s the excitement ? What is the point ? Can you imagine such a ridiculous system having teams stay wherever they are whatever their results ? Course you can if you think about it and we currently are stuck with it. It,s the future and I for one think it stinks.
