im led to believe they were caught measuring the inner field of leigh harriers for a rugby field,even trying to shaft them and they brought 4 million to the table.

They had a football pitch in the middle of their last track.

Well playing devils advocate I thought Harriers would use the running track. The ground in the middle seems ideally suited for a Rugby, Football,or even Hockey or Lacrosse playing field.

Leigh RLFC did used to play at the old Athletic Ground before Hilton Park was completed.

How cynical & untrusting is club foot for one so young,there is just no pleasing some folk..... eh frankb ?

And they have in this one. Genesis Reserves, Leigh Athletic and a couple of kids teams use the Harriers for their home games.

Not distrusting i have been subjected to it first hand through my involvement at leigh east ,it will make very interesting reading.Im not cynical watcher just aBATTERED BRUISED AND VERY DISSAPPOINTED VOLUNTEER after 2 years of dealing with these people.

Last home match at LSV there was a junior girls footy match on at the Harriers

As the footy season comes to an end it would seem sensible for it to be used for RL in summer if somebody is willing to pay to play

As long as nobodies practicing the javelin or discus at the same time I dont see a problem

Hope i can help out on this with the following points as i watch every Leigh Athletic game.

1/ The pitch is due to be relaid this summer due to it being badly laid in the first place.
2/ The dimensions are border line, with the added disadvantage of a hard standing area very close to the touchlines.
3/ Hammer cage directly behind one goal.
4/ Teams using it are, Leigh Athletic on a Saturday, Eastleigh Juniors and Leigh RMI Ladies use the inside and outside ground on a Sunday.

I've spoke to the Leigh Harriers and Leigh Athletic people yesterday while at the game, and both say they are totally unaware of this.

Also a little bit about Leigh Athletic.......

1/ Play in the Manchester Football Leagues Premier Division.
2/ Run 3 Teams.
3/ Been in existance for 53 consecutive seasons.

All in all a very well structered club, well organised, well run, providing a great sevice for local footballers. They're also a pretty decent team to watch, playing highly entertaining football.

Is the 'harriers' part of the LSV run by them or the LSV? if run pivately then permission should be obtained, if owned by the SV company no permission needed no problem? see easy

Andy Burnham is doing the commentary on Talksport this afternoon for the Everton game so maybe give them a call on the air, Keith?!

Will he still help his home town though or is he too busy thses days?
I know one of our LISA members was pushing for him to attend certain events and was too he was too busy, one of which was the presentation of the players awards we did at the quiz night.

thats the main problem wth hm being a minister of state the higher he goes the less time he has for constituency issues, and whilst very laudible a 'prize giving' is hardy earthshatteringy important in the geeral scheme o things.

The groundsman at the LSV did measure the pitch for possible use for the reserves but was politely told to leave by the Harriers and as things stand no RL will be played there.

The harriers will have the football pitch there for years to come it seems.
