Good signing if he comes with the right attitude and adds value to the group. Team spirit looks good at the moment we don’t want that to be ruined.

Not the half back I was expecting. This is all about neutralising Featherstone.
Leigh have the dominant pack and Featherstone had the edge in the backs. With Inu and Ferguson on the flanks we now have the edge in that position too.
Easy to see now why Del Boy was not interested in Kheirallah and Ford.
A genuine quality player (although he comes with a bad boy reputation) I am looking forward to the delegation meeting Ferguson at Manchester Airport.

It's a shame for Keenan Brand, he's really developing into a good player for Leigh.

Keenan Brand as our winger or Blake Ferguson?....come on, you're not seriously saying we should stick with Keenan.
Yes, honest Joe that is our Keenan, who I might add has done absolutely nothing wrong this season whilst playing out of position on the wing may well now find his position in the team under threat. Yet, I do wonder whether there was an indication in the words of Lam today in the press release, who said that whilst Ferguson had represented the Kangaroos at winger 'could play centre or fullback...'. He does not say has played centre or fullback, but 'could play' in those positions. That's future tense to me and Lam tends to chose his words very carefully.
I think that this is a clear indication of how Lam is thinking of using Ferguson in which case it might be Chamberlain and not Brand whose position is under threat.
Either way Ferguson is not coming all the way here to Leigh to warm the bench so someone in the team who has done us proud so far this season is going to have to give way.
What a signing by the way. Bad boy or not, this lad is a notch up in class.

Huge signing and as Jack rightly points out (beat me to it Jack), he may not necessarily play exclusively on the wing. If I recall rightly from a good few years back, he has played top grade NRL in the position but I don't personally remember fullback (then again I don't remember my own name sometimes these days !).
Regardless, this guy will scare the heck out of a defense in any position and gives us the strongest backline in the Championship now.
This is a long season, and we are bound to pick up injuries, or at least need to rest players with niggles or just to let them recharge every now and then. We now have better numbers, good strength in depth and are looking really good for the second half of the season and the business end.
What I do like about the press release is Derek clearly saying that we are not just planning for promotion or bust. This is part of a long term plan to have a team ready to compete at SL when it happens (and he says it is not all or bust, hinging on it being this year).

Leigh as a club should take heart that when we have signed "bad boys" in the past, they've been quite exemplary in their behaviour on and off the pitch, with the exception of refs just looking for a reason to card Gaz Hock.

Hopefully Ferguson can be used more as a utility back than merely a winger because, as others have noted, Brand is coming along a storm.

Though I do think this is just another signing that will enter into the Leigh Shop Window for Super League signings for 2023, whether we're promoted or not.

It's imperative we try to keep our best quota players for next season, (7) i believe if we get in SL. I must admit my confidence is growing, and i hope we keep improving as the season progresses. It's fair to say London were poor, so it was difficult to take much from that game. Yes we have the players but, we need testing a bit more. COYL

A no-brainer that Blake Ferguson will be 1st choice. The others will have to up their game even more. Competition for places is what we need. Plus its a squad game these days. Players get injured, need resting. Absolutely fantastic signing. Well done Leigh!
