Taking up a post on another thread, isn't it fun getting lost.

Once went to New Craven Park for the CC game with the free coaches laid on but drove, and was a bit unsure of directions, anyway as it turned out we came off the CSW too soon and asked for directions. Very helpful lady gave great directions, only problem was it was to the Boulevard as FC were at home that day as well, imagine asking FC fans best way the NCP. icon_surprised.gifops:

Happened to me this year when going to Ashton United; got sent to Curzon Ashton who were at home to Exeter in the FA Cup. Got to the ground 95 minutes after leaving Wigan icon_surprised.gifops: icon_lol.gif

Not looking forward to driving to Batley on Monday - always get lost in Mirfield and the like. Found Fev first time this season which was a huge achievement after ending up outside the Jungle before a Cas-Saints game when going to Fev last season.

wanted to see a match on easter saturday, so went to darwen fc to watch east lancashire lions play hemel in the conference........however , when we got there, no game, they have apparently moved to bury........

thing was, the people at darwen fc didn't seem aware of this, the web details were still suggesting darwen, as was their own site and the conference one

at least you dont get that in the pro game

I,m not the only Leyther who lives in Manchester I was talking to a lad who regularly bumps into me on the way to Leigh games on the 26 bus. I said I,m surprised you missed the Sheffield game last week cos I didn,t see you. He sadly said he,d got on a train to London from Manchester Piccadilly by mistake and by the time it got to Stoke there was no way he could have got to Sheffield in time.

OK how is his for getting lost? In short we were travelling to Oldham a few seasons ago and ended up getting lost. But that wasn't all, when we eventually got there late we then found out that the game had switched venues....and dates! So we were late for a game at the wrong ground on the wrong day!

There,s another lad who everytime we lose says he,s not bothering again cos he,s decided fishing is more entertaining. He also uses the 26 for our home games.

Re previous post Leighonardo it was. icon_smile.gif

We ended up in the wrong Bramley travelled to the one near Rotherham asked at a petrol station where the ground was & they said you're in the wrong town it's the one near Leeds you want. The thing is we weren't the only ones to make the cock up as a few Leythers had been in earlier icon_surprised.gifops:

Knew somebody once who got lost going to Carlisle they ended up in Birmingham he turned South on the M6 at Orrell instead of North. He is a Wigganer who supports Saints though. icon_lol.gif

Leigh were at Whitehaven and on his way home he came off the roundabout at Penrith one exit too early, finished up on the A66 and went all the way to Scotch Corner!!!

That's quite easily done as it's THE single most boring drive ever and it's easy to switch off.

Really? I quite like the drive to Whitehaven, stopping off at Tebay etc

That said, it's even better when someone else drives icon_biggrin.gifRUNK:

We took the wrong turning once going to Post Office Rd, Featherstone. Unfortunately as we were flying our flags and obviously looked like we knew where we were going we were followed by two other cars full of Leythers. It was really embarrassing when after driving out into the countryside for a few miles we had to stop and do a 3-point turn only for the other two cars to have to do the same. We still see the men from one of the cars at matches and I still feel a bloody fool about it!

Always a lesson not to follow any Leythers icon_lol.gif

A few years ago, a lad didn't know the way back from Widnes (not much hope there!) and ended up following some Leythers home. Problem being that the home of these particular Leythers was in Stockport icon_lol.gif
