I think the coaches for the away fans is a good idea,and it sounds as if everyone who watches Leigh every week are trying to drum up extra support.
Could the club have taken a step further and opened the invite to Super League clubs in the area,especially Warrington and St Helens as we have close links to them.I dont believe that free coaches would do the trick but tickets for £5 to season ticket holders would get more bums on seats.

Split gate so an initiative like that would have to meet the approval of Widnes as well. I'd personally rather we target people who are more likely to become supporters of the club for this game and would certainly push the fact that we don't need to offer discounts as we're worth paying 14 quid with the style of rugby we're playing.

I thought that i said that Leigh was doing what it can to get local support to the game and i agree we do need more people from Leigh to come.
I could not see any complaint from Widnes as it would bring in extra revenue at no extra cost to both clubs.We need to have a good crowd on thursday and if that means cheaper tickets to season ticket holders from other clubs so be it.
Over the years Leigh's support is waining,if this continues we may not see 2015,we have a good team this year and we need to use any market ploy to get supporters,wheather its from Leigh or any other club.

Understand we need bums on seats but why should I as a Leigh season ticket holder pay £16 while fans from other clubs get in cheaper ,think Widnes fans would feel the same and no I don't know what to do other than bleat on to people how well we are playing . There is the 100 free family tickets and I hope they have been snapped up .

That's pretty much my line of thinking, plus I think the quality of the games is well worth paying out the full whack. Offering substantial discounts just devalues the product.

I think it's a RFL initiative Alan, i may be wrong though i have been in the past.

It says on the Email - the club have got 100 family tickets to give away for the 7th april game.
Hopefully these ticket will go to people who dont normally go to watch leigh rl.

Leigh Centurions are appealing to their supporters for assistance in creating a bumper crowd for the Northern Rail Quarter Finals Clash With Widnes Vikings on 7th April.

The club have 100 family tickets to give away, and are asking that supporters nominate a family (2 adults & 2 children) who would not normally come to watch Leigh, who could benefit from this ticket offer.

We must stress that these tickets are to entice new people into the game. Please do not nominate anybody who would be coming to the game regardless or somebody who you do not believe would use the tickets.

If you know somebody who would like to experience the thrills and spills of live rugby league, who is not a regular Leigh supporter, please ask them to register with the club on 01942 487888.

Please note that these tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis.

That's the free entry for kids that applies over Easter and during the school summer holidays.

I too was surprised at the 100 family tickets for what isn't a Co-Operative-sponsored game, but can't grumble!
