Please could someone confirm if the rumours are true that we will be losing Ian Mort to Halifax at the end of the year? I hope this is not the case as Ian (In my opinion) is the only player that gives 100% every match. He gets the crowd going when he clenches his fist and is always looking to get the ball from kicks over the top. I believe people such as Morty are the life blood of the club.

Dont know about the rumours hope he stays, but dont agree with you on saying he is the only player that gives 100% every game take Chris Hill for example.

So Chris Hill, Jimmy T, etc don't give 100% every game

Morty won't be going anywhere. Especially now that Basil is here. He understands he may have to bide his time for the full back spot with Donlan at the club, but the two are good friends and Morty is learning all the time from him. No doubt in the future he'll become a fine player, he is already an asset to the side with his goal kicking ability and the way he can make breaks when the opposing side's line is broken.

Aslong as we give him time and support him then he won't want to go anywhere because he clearly loves playing for his home town club.

He does this rarely and even when it does happen like on sunday he hasn't got a clue what to do. He came inside and got tackled when he should have been scoring in the corner. I don't mind a bit of enthusiasm but he shouldn't be giving it large at 6-0 up in the first ten minutes just because he has kicked a goal.

I've seen him on alot of occasions slip through a tackle and make a half break or some kind of break that gets the team on the front foot. I can't remember the incident you refer to but maybe he didn't want to chance going into touch so came inside to retain the ball?

These are the posts I was thinking about when I said we need to give him time and support him, for all his inexperience he has scored over 10 tries for us this season, some bloody vital ones too and kicked goals for fun. We should be glad to have a player who is pleased to score points for our club and I have no problems with him showing it either!

He must be referring to when Mort broke through and the French winger tripped the outside Leigh player.

Mort is young and enthusiastic. He is a great goal kicker and in a couple of seasons time when he realises how good he can be we will reap the benefits.

At Gateshead however I,d keep him on the wing.

Widnes also linked with Halifax also linked with Gavin Dodd! Don't see why they after a full back with Greenwood on board!

Plus in Yates we have a full back very similar to Mort!
