Well the seasons pear shaped already. Players seemingly unfit. Uninterested. Coaches clueless. All of them. Fans arguing amongs ourselves. Everyones given up Dereks insulting the paying public and is allegedely leaving. Well. I think that the situation needs grasping. Before its too late. We need Dereks help. One way or the other so. I feel the way forward is to get a fan consortium to hold talks with Derek to find out the solution. Does he stay? Can he find a mate to buy in? The good doc etc. This needs starting soon. Unfortunately I'm not in a position as I am still in hospital with this damned brain tumour but if was fit would be there. Come on Leythers pull together. Before its too late

I have a friend that joined the Leigh physio staff pre-season. He simply commented Leigh will do nothing this season as large numbers of the squad were bust by the pre-season sessions when he arrived.

Steve, first and foremost consider your health mate and get a speedy full recovery, feeling for you.

Now to anyone else reading this, consudering that Steve has got the ball rolling with his suggestion does anyone else feel the same way that a fans representation could contact the club to see what could be offered from our side?
This is about the limit of my social media expierience, I dont do Twitter or Facebook, so I would not be much use in the organisational aspect, but would be willing to meet up with like minded fans to hold a preliminary meeting to discuss if this suggestion has any hope of developing further.

Leythersteve, your current health situation puts everything into perspective re Leigh. I sincerely hope that you get well soon. Your good health is everything and worth more than any amount of money.
Derek has clearly lost his way re Leigh. His abuse of the fans is a big mistake. He is burning bridges wherever he goes re Leigh. Narcissistic people like him rarely show humility and admit to mistakes. They think that only they know best, and they don't listen to good advice. They take praise at every turn it is available and blame others when things go wrong. Derek will view the fans' opinions and advice as not worthy of his time. Power corrupts.

There is no doubt talking is good however, I'm not sure what the fans can offer other than their support which, DB has already requested ?
All parties need to work together if we are to move forward. There was some improvement on the field yesterday and Mickey was magnificent,he didn't deserve to be on the losing side!
The best course going forward for me is to allow those who are charged with getting us performing to our potential left to do just that and, the great Leigh supporters accept we are currently in choppy waters and look forward to calmer times

I think fans meeting with Derek and at least giving him a perspective of how hurtful his comments have been to some fans, and how important the right kind of leadership is to keeping feet on the terraces, could be a huge benefit. It’s not just about pumping in money (though it has been a fantastic boost to our club) it’s about employing rugby experienced professionals at every level and then letting them do there jobs. And then communicating positively and openly any news that can inform and explain what is happening, good and bad. Please employ an overall club ‘chief of operations’ for want of a better name Derek, and then step back for your own good.
