Got a bl00dy ticket outside the LSV baths today....do I just pay it?

Ive been to the gym everyday for the last week or so and have probably seen about 40 tickets being issued, think on Tuesday there was a line of around 12 cars ALL with a ticket, there are plenty of signs saying that tickets will be issued, last week cars parked in these areas received a warning ticket, saying when the new regulations were coming in

What's the offence?

Where are the parking restrictions?

Guessing its just something like parking in a restricted area as no yellow lines are marked on the roads, or it could be parking in controlled parking zones, not sure though as i havent had a ticket

No ' parking ' in the ' drop off ' area's or in the ' turning circle ' area

I have posted this (or someat similiar) before on here and on the Leigh east site but here goes.

A 'parking ticket' is issued to the DRIVER not owner.
There are TWO types of 'parking ticket'
1 A Local Authority issued one (used to be by traffic wardens but now by LA parking wardens)
2 Private company issued ones.
(a Police officer can still issue but treat as LA)

Only the police under the road traffic act can REQUIRE you as an owner to provide details of a driver at the time of an offence - this power could now be delegated to LA (local authority) but im not too sure, CHECK yourself - google road traffic act parking/requirement of drivers t provide details.

Therefore it makes sense that if you were not HANDED the ticket its a good bet that it was a 'hit and run' ticket (put on whilst you were not there).
And the issuing person didnt see you park there.
There is plenty of things written on the internet have a look.

My advice
1 the obvious one dont park unless you know you cant get 'done' (hardly helpfull I know but...)
2 always pay a Police or LA ticket -they have you by the dangglies unless you are prepared for a fight long and drawen out and EXPENSIVE.
3 If its a private company ticket - well read what others have done, some advice dont pay others to pay, BUT its doubtful they will take it to court, it will give you the option to pay at once at a set fee, and will advice that that fee will go up after a certain time YOU take that risk.

Have trawl on the internet but you MUST know what TYPE of ticket you have - READ IT CAREFULLY.
