Bit of unclear info coming from club re fitness and recruitment so just reaching out for some info. So with Ashworth and Butler in the squad looks like there is some player movement. Anyone know the status of others? Also injury / fitness status is Ellis nearing fitness? Have long now for Flower and how is Ryan. Sorry to see Peats and Peteru go if that is the case but understand we need more bodies of a very good calibre to come in asap to bolster the squad.

This news gives us all hope Mo,Derek must still have some fight in him , as it’s crazy to bring these players all this way for a holiday , I applaud Derek , he isn’t stupid , and hopefully it’s not all doom and gloom .

The new arrivals should cerrtainly give everyone around the club a boost.

I have been reading and hearing from independent sources for many weeks, that behind the scenes has been an endless knocking on doors and tireless chasing of players all season, especially in recent weeks. This weeks news is a clear sign, as Charlie quite rightly says, that Derek and the club have far from given up on this season.
Two wins behind our nearest rivals and only halfway through the season. It may ultimately not be enough but I’m not giving up on our club and refuse to buy into the negativity brigade.

I’d take anything Mo says with a pinch of salt as he just feeds off the rumours - however his latest feed is in line with Monty, who generally is not far off the mark.

Don’t know Derek personally, but he’s doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who sits there twiddling his thumbs - he must have thicker skin than a Rhino with the carp he gets off fans, the majority of who do diddly squit to help and then criticise at the first opportunity

reports suggest Nene McDonald outside back and Sam Stone back row forward neither has played much first grade this year

Not trying to be critical here but we’re hardly likely to temp regular NRL first teamers over here are we.

Looked where we need to strengthen and acted on it, whether it’s the right decision and makes any difference remains to be seen - not aimed at you but no doubt many fans will have a whinge either way

Ashworth also appears to be a very astute signing, although I think we may miss Peats

Any ideas when these guys will arrive need them in for next game and hopefully a couple of returning players in squad. Sidlow and Mason to go along with Ashworth and Ioane. Would love to see us go out with a full squad one day this year.

So what is the real deal with Flower & Blake Wallace ?

I have heard similar stories from TBF just a small group of sources being that a) one of them punched John Duffy before J.D's mutual departure & that b) the same player is refusing to play (possibly something to do with Championship contract money).

I have also had it suggested to me that A.N Other player is regularly & intentionally failing head tests as he doesn't want to play for Leigh & *possibly looking for a pay out* !!!
*Is this even possible* ? I imagine that failing could be manipulated if one wanted to.

Not sure Ste, but it's a bizarre situation isn't it ? If Wallace keeps failing head tests, then surely he will have visited a neuro-surgeon, and as for Flower, they should just get rid of him, but obviously can't do so.
