| I think Leigh will have a good season - score didn`t reflect the game - Josh Woods excellent and some tried & tested ex SL players will provide stability which the club desperately needs. Good luck.

| I’m looking forward to seeing some opinions on how we looked overall and who looked good in particular.
Thanks EB for your comments.

Wood in his stint was goulash. Not sure what you were watching? Pauli Pauli might be seeing a visit to red hall.
Overall a very stable strong squad on show in both the first ten minutes and last ten minutes. The latter being the starting squad.

Riddy looked fit but overall I thought all our halfs didn't show alot and again our kicking game was very poor,I did think the pack looked good and I just wish sometimes they would just give our centres early ball and let's see them have a go at their opposite centres one on one because weve got 2 very strong centres that can cause problems with ball in hand instead of just giving them crash balls

| Good to hear re Riddy. I think I may be in the minority but believe he his key to our season be overall successful.
Once we have our halfback settled then centres will see more ball.

| It was Woods who put Sau over, very mixed half from Woods imo but thought Riddy ( who was the most slimline seen him in years) was very poor and off pace, two intercepted passes thrown and kicked ball dead on only short kick attempted. Unfortunately I feel Riddy has been great servant to club but will only be 4th choice half this season. Very impressed with Ioane, Hellewell and Glohe in the pack, Mason went well too and thought young Holroyd was our best winger on show. Promising signs but lots to work on in my opinion. Would like another big mobile prop, and a quick outside back adding to squad if possible ( maybe the 2 SL loans)

seeing that once again you have shown your dislike for ridy, you are actually going off half a game of rugby in a warm up match.

| Problems for Martyn (and John Duffy) areBen Reynolds is a vice captain, which suggests he could be on the pitch a lot, especially as the captain and other v/c are forwards.
- Jarrod Sammut is a big signing for us and is pretty obviously going to be first choice.
- Josh Woods is on a season-long loan from Wigan. They are probably going to expect him to feature quite a lot.
Of course, someone could get injured, (I hope not) or JD may want to try different combinations, to mix it up for our opponents. I guess Riddy's best bet, is to make it impossible for JD to ignore him. I guess that, providing nobody chucks out their dummy, there is going to be some very healthy competition, around the half back spots.

Nope on the back half of last season also, it's not a dislike of Riddy, just the lad is coming to the end of a very good career and it is showing. Woods was far more influential yesterday in his half a game prob more so than Reynolds and Sammut also, but even he was still inconsistent again.

ridy is 6 month older than sammut and ridy was playing with injections due to a injured foot at the back end of last season, but you are so quick to criticise him after a 40 min spell in the second half at salford in a friendly (who btw were last years grand finalist) and he also will want to play in his testimonial at the miners on friday. so,what was you really expecting at salford ? just admit that you dont like the fella and never have.

| Don't dislike him whatever you say, but will admit not rated him as highly as some have over the years Inc yourself obviously even though no idea who you are. Slight differences in Sammut and Riddy in the way they have dedicated themselves to the game over the years. If Riddy is going to force himself into the team this year ( of which he will at some point) surely he needs to show something in the chances he gets even if its only half a game here and there. Anyway, whatever our own personal thoughts are on Riddy the bloke that counts is John Duffy and I reckon he sees him as 4th choice this season, do you disagree with that thought also. I'm sure we are in for an exciting season that no doubt Riddy will play a part in at some time through it. Enjoy the season
