| Big fan of the 2 12s splitting into the Super 8s (I like everything even more now it's all got a proper name), allowing clubs to progress and grow steadily instead of a massive step up in one year. Slightly disappointed though they changed their mind about giving all 4 Championship teams the extra home game; the Championship teams are in the Qualifiers for winning, the Super League teams are there for losing, the winners should get the advantage. No parachute payments is excellent, they'd completely defy the point of the whole thing, giving relegated clubs too much of an advantage. Glad Championship 1 is now League 1, Championship & Championship 1 was just confusing; shame it's regional though, but suppose it's a long way from Hemel to Cumbria so can see why they've done it. Really like the idea of pitting the National Conference League & Challenge Trophy winners up against League 1, might cause an upset.
Downsides are looks like Dual Code (in one form or another is staying), needs to be scrapped in my opinion especially as you've got Championship Clubs playing against Super League clubs. I also really hope the bonus point gets scrapped, bit of a silly gimmick that rewards losers and confuses potential new fans.
All in all it's good news though, a very exciting time to be a Rugby League fan.

| Can't Grasp how the super 8s work regarding how to play the seven games. I understand that top 2 out of the top 4
of the championship and 9th and 10th from superleague play 4 home games in the super 8s, but just don't get how the seven games are played, as it states that it's on a league basis. Can anyone elaborate and explain. Thanks

They play each other once,in a league system =7 games.
4 clubs will play 4 home games and 3 away games, and vice versa,4 will play 3 home and 4 away.
9th and 10th in super league and top two in championship play 4 home games.
I think the qualifier league might get more media interest than the grand final play offs!

For once, I think that the RFL have come up with a simple answer.
As you say, Cokey, the bottom four SL teams and the top four Championship teams have a mini league season. Points previously earned are wiped out (because the two sets of teams were playing against different levels of competition) and the whole season (and thus whether you go into SL the following year or remain in the Championship) rests on the upcoming 7 matches - one each against the other teams in the group.
Because there are an odd number of games to be played, the RFL feels that the "extra" home game should be awarded to the four teams which have done best so far (ie those who finished 9th and 10th in SL and 1st and 2nd in the Championship).
At the end of the mini league, the top 3 are promoted into SL for the following season along with winners of a play off between 4th and 5th. The rest stay in the Championship for another year (at least !).
HTH.

| I am sure they will publish who plays who at least league position wise anyway just as soon as their heads stop hurting. However the 4 home game solution seems reasonably thought out

Agreed , It's the 3 away games that are confusing.

| I think the whole thing looks great, looking forward to next season and have to keep reminding myself there's still 6 games left to go of this one yet! Slightly disappointed they changed their mind about giving all 4 Championship clubs the extra home game, Championship Clubs are in there because they've been winning Super League ones because they're loosing, winners should get the advantage.
