Very proud of Ryan today,my mum,Ryan's nana, sadly passed away earlier this week,it was a tough call whether Ryan played or not.
She was Ryan's number one fan and a big inspiration to him,and followed him to every game,if she was there today Haggarty would have needed a police escort off the pitch!

Well done Ryan ,as a family we are very proud of you.

Also a big thank you to the Leigh directors,players and staff for their support for Ryan,and the family,they have been top class.

I heard about this yesterday and I don't think anyone could have blamed Ryan for not wanting to play today. The fact that he not only played but played out of his skin is a credit to him and to all of you, especially his Nana.

Although I don't know you , I send you my sincere Condolences for your Sad loss , not long ago I lost both my Parents and know its not easy , for me Young Ryan put up with a lot of Abuse and stick today from both Dews Fans and Players , yet he conducted himself in a very proud way , the Lad is a Credit to both you and your Family , I for one applaud Ryan on keeping his cool . .

Fair play to him for playing, could understand if he decided not to though. Maybe her been his biggest fan spurred him on to play as its what should would probably have wanted.

I am proud to consider Ryan as a friend and would like to offer my condolences to him and his family on their loss, I heard about it earlier in the week but didnt offer my condolences then in case it disrupted in any way shape or form his playing form.
In Ryan you have a fine young man who is a credit to you all (but don't tell him I told you that ) he is always willing to help others and in the early days of LC TV He and his partner in 'crime' Riddy were the main stay of our programming something I am again looking forward to this coming summer.

Agreed, us fans have no clue what 'situation' any sports player might be going through at any given time. But they cross that 'white line' and just get on with it. Like Ryan, any player who does this, I have nothing but total admiration for them.
Doubt I could have done it....the only difficulty I had was playing for the Boars Head in the 'pub cricket league' with a hangover.
My condolences to the Brierleys for their sad loss.

Ryan's a credit to his lovely family and our great club who are his second family .

My dearest thoughts go out to Ryan and all his family, and friends of his Nana. To read how he held it together under heavy attention today shows what a fine role model he has had. She must have been one proud lady every time he took the field.
That picture that Nozzy linked to really brought tears to my eyes. What better way to honour your Nana than doing what she loved best. All the best Ryan, you have my deepest respect mate.

The whole family are lovely and I really feel for them right now .
The picture certainly reduced me to tears , having meet her also , she would be of proud of him today , he had one hell of a tough day and came through it.
This is one o he reasons we will be successful this year, we're all in it together truly .

He may not be the biggest lad but he had the heart of a Lion and the picture is absolutely fantastic. I wondered what the gesture was for. Well lad she'll still be your biggest fan from the best seat at anywhere you play.
