It seems this last two years we've established ourselves as one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the league, but not really got close to the top two. Especially so this year. Nilled twice by KR, once by Wigan and think we only scored 1 try in each of the other two games at Wigan. For that reason, it was a bit disappointing that we attempted to play the same system as we've always done, but without O'Donnell and Charnley to make it even remotely feasible. Would've liked to have seen Ipape moved to 13 or even 6.

Hopefully next season, with a bit of extra speed in the backline, hopefully a new 6 brought in to replace Moylan that adds a kicking game, we can cause teams problems even if they match or beat us down the middle.

But, if you'd said at the start of the season that Ipape and Asiata would both miss 10 games, Mulhern 7 and Amone 6, yet we'd still make the semi final, I think most would've been happy. And I'm pretty sure we'd have beaten anyone outside the top 2 even with O'Donnell, Charnley and Halton missing. Just need to make that next step, it might take a few years, but would back Lam and Chester to get us there.

It is my understanding that players who come through your academy dont count the same on the salary cap. Wigan have the best academy in rugby league. As such they have more money to spend on their marquee players. We, by comparison have only just been allowed to have an academy. There are many great players in super league from leigh who could have come through our academy and form the basis of our team. It is amazing that we have been able to compete with the likes of warrington, st Helen's, Leeds given that we start hamstrung by this rule.
Give us 5 years and we will start to bring our own players through. This will be the final step in the leyth revolution. The journey there will be very exciting so let's enjoy the ride.

If loop fixtures for next season are decided by odd/even place finishing again, I would personally prefer Wigan win the whole thing, just giving them the 4 points next season is enough

I think loop fixtures are decided by regular season standings, so we'll have Wigan (a), Warrington (h), Catalans (magic), Huddersfield (h) and Hull (a) as our extra fixtures.
