Quote: Septimius Severus "I was talking about the Huddersfield game. They played with only one half back, and 3 centres. It was horrible.
Moylan has been surprisingly good at Fullback but when O'Brien is fit, Moylan goes back into the halves.
"McNamara, O'Brien, Asiata or even Brand" McNamara - yes, O'Brien - No, Asiata - No, and Brand - No, No, No.
O'Brien is part of the reason for the "Lethal Left Edge", last season he was tried in the halves pre-season and very quickly rejected.
Moylan was brought in to do a job in the halves, and having had space and time at fullback, will benefit when he returns to his more natural position.'"
I've a lot of time for O'Brien at full back, but ultimately I think Moylan is a better full back. His footwork makes him more dangerous in kick returns and he's less likely to be caught by a winger / centre shooting out of the line. In this system, he'd be wasted at 6, stood on the right while we continue to go left. I also don't think it's a coincidence that our defence has improved since he's not been in the defensive line, and his move to fb along with the return of Amone has seen an upturn in performances.
Not sure why you'd disregard Asiata at 6, given he's played NRL there, plus Lam has already said that by the time he comes back he will need to fit into an adjusted style of play. O'Brien did play at 6 at the start of last season, but that was with Hardaker at full back and everything was quite clunky still. I think he'd do a lot better with Moylan running off him at full back
