17580.jpg First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.

| Having watched several Saints games this season, they consistently move forward as a defensive line just prior to the play the ball. Refs rarely pin them for offside regardless of how obvious it gets. What LNZ says could be gold for us. Quick, wide ball is the way to negate this Saints tactic. Play around the over advance line. Hurrell is strong when making a tackle but flat footed also in defence. Ricky and Josh could have a good day if they get quality and quick ball (and that is one thing we do very well). I also think we can roll them in the forwards with our speed of play and strong running.
This will be a close game but one I believe we will win.
I will be up at 6:30am to shout at the TV. You may be able to hear me !
Enjoy the game Leythers.

| Quote: RogerMoore "What do you expect? The league has said in no uncertain term there is nothing wrong with the tackle.'"
Yet Wellens has brought the game into disrepute by accusing the RFL failing to protect player welfare.
Now there are videos showing Stain players committing similar tackles in the game against Leeds.

| I'm sure Asiata will carry on regardless but it does put him and the refs in a bit of a bind. Some 23 or so matches into the season and suddenly one player is the focus because of one match, or rather the over reaction to the fall out of one match.
You can't change how you naturally* tackle, if you do then that means clearly you think there was something wrong with it, carry on with it and you will be scrutinising to within an inch of existence and the refs too will continually have flies buzzing around them after every attempt.
*I say naturally, in the nearly two season of watching John at Leigh I've never noticed anything wrong with it, it is the way of the tackle, sometime you go for the ball, sometimes the hips and sometimes the legs, all the while gauging who else is in the tackle and how the opponent is moving. Then you end up with posts like this, being overly analytical and removing the joy from the actual physical contest on the field.

| I think it just needs putting to bed now. There's nothing wrong with his tackling. He goes for the shins rather than the upper leg. It's not Asiata's fault that they are tall, heavy blokes who, when they fall, may land heavily on their knees. It's rugby not tick and pass.
