With the (definite) exception of a certain French linesman in the wheelchair World Cup Final, Bongser thinks that most officials excel at being impartial. That doesn't mean that they always get things right but most of the time, most of them do.
Remember the soccer ref, David Elleray reaching for his pocket when yelled at by (think it was - IT PROBABLY WAS) John Terry and saying,
"You may accuse me of incompetence, but you cannot ever impugn my integrity".
Red.
Reffy (nice to see one of your occasional dips into your own forum - don't be a stranger) "Rubbish"-ed Bongser a few years ago for suggesting that officials could occasionally be swayed by a player's reputation or disciplinary record. Your correspondent stands by that - refs etc are human - and fans should understand that and hold fire.
Hands up. Bongser posted after the Wigan loss (they would have won anyway - but not by that margin) that he was narked by "Liam Magoo's" performance, however not once did he "impugn his integrity".
Summary, no worries from here about two Wakey officials. Leigh never got any favours from Phil B.
