| Quote: Jack Gaskell "Bongser, your memory is right about DB's funding of animal conservation work in Africa and that it was highlighted by DB in his Dockhouse interview. I cannot remember if it was specifically about Leopards but your memory is probably better than mine on that point. As you have indicated, it would make a great deal of sense that he did given yesterday's developments.
It was clear from that remarkable interview that DB had a road to Damascus moment as he lay pegging out after his violent reaction to the bee stings.
It all seems to make sense. The second chance (of life), a determination to aid the conservation of an endangered species and an absolute commitment to ensure that our club would have the financial means to get promoted, then survive and then thrive in SL. He sounds now as though he was positively born again by the experience.
I'm with you, I don't give a damn about the change of name but as you have seen from my previous comments, the ditching of the team's colours has got my back up.
I agree with a lot of what VL has just posted but clearly have a different view about the new shirt, or more particularly, the ditching of our traditional colours. Whilst I respect VL's view or indeed anyone else who disagrees with me I am more than happy to accept the principle that change can, should happen and that the club has to adapt and move forwards. The principle of change or die, but why does this have be at the expense of a core club tradition. I simply don't accept the argument that everything traditional has to be ditched in order to move forward or that everything new means necessarily it represents something better than that, that it replaces.
We all have our views, all are equally valid. I just think that this particular development is a crass move.
The club is nothing without its fans. Yes, DB funds the club's success and funds its future and there is no doubt that his heart is deep in the club but, as we all know, his ego is brittle, as evidenced by his often tiresome tirades whenever someone goads him on social media. He will nonetheless be expecting us all to file through the turnstiles next season in ever increasing numbers as we all part with our hard earned cash to part fund what we are watching. So despite the fact DB does not like criticism he should be big enough to give the fans some consideration when wanting to change something as fundamental as our traditional colours.
He should have consulted the fans. This decision should not have been a fait accompli. There should have been a fans vote and DB could have put forward his argument in favour for the change. He should also have been big enough to respect the fan's decision even if that vote result was not the decision that he wanted.
In short, DB should have shown us fans some consideration and some respect. Our views count even if he doesn't like those views.
Ramble over....and out!.'"
Well said ![ROCKS k020.gif](images/smilies//k020.gif)

Up the Leopards..
Again my point exactly, I’ve just watched a 30 minute rugby programme on Facebook which was devoted to Leigh Leopards 100%they spoke of nothing else , and it was a Yorkshire based programme , reveiwing all our signings and where we will finish in the League next year , they all spoke well of us and Derek.
It seems Leigh Leopards are on the lips of everyone , ok I don’t like the shirt ,I won’t buy it , I will be buying a package though and getting a polo shirt .
As for Sponser ship this is why sponsors get involved because of publicity , and sponsors are throwing money at Leigh Leopards , it’s great.

| Quote: Vancouver Leyther "Agreed 100% Charlie.
And to Nathan I will say, the rebrand package (because it is so much more than just a name) has already brought a 6 figure sponsorship of the main shirt and retained the originally planned sponsor who agreed to sponsor all training gear instead, at the same pound point as originally planned.
IMG has stated that clubs need to up be financially strong, increase revenue and, increase awareness of the brand and social media presence.'"
Good evening VL , I hope you are well , fully recovered from Bongsers singing .
As you say everyone wants to be involved with Leigh Leopards , last night the BBC mentioned us and Derek, and I’ve just watched a 30 minute rugby programme on Facebook , devoted 100% to Leigh Leopards , and our signings , they spoke of how well we are doing and have done a great PR job , folk like this Nathan guy , talk is just wishful thinking .

| Hmm. The motto would very soon be seized upon by other fans and changed to something like:
"A pi$h poor town that's going back down".
Quite like the kits both home and away. But don't like the badge (nor the fact that it is different home & away). The leopard looks way too friendly (though for all their mockery, were a wild leopard loose in DW Stadium, the Wigan Walk would become a Wigan Stampede and happen even earlier than usual). Mind you, the Villeneuve Leopards badge looks like the cat is going to say, "Hey, TC, here comes Officer Dibble," at any moment.
Sausage it! Give the Leigh Leopard a set of Jaguar fangs!
And (never start a sentence with "And"icon_wink.gif this is Leigh and we want the town crest on the shirts as well.

| Motto: Palma non sine pulvere.
Nothing to do with pulverising with Madame Palm and her five lovely daughters, it should be noted!
