| My first post on here for a long time, I only wish it was for a different reason.
Can I take this opportunity to thanks everyone for their kind and generous words sent to us by letters, cards, facebook twitter in print and on here (over 750 at the last count) the communications received were not only from our club and fans but from across the whole spectrum of the game Community and professionall, Elaine David and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Andrew passed away from COVID 19 with complications on the 9/1/21 at Wigan Infirmary and we would thank all the staff who tried to save him.
Since he passed I must give special thanks to Derek Beaumont, Mike Latham and all the staff and BOD of Leigh Centurions and the SuperLeigh lottery , The Leigh Centurions Foundation, for their assistance in everything and a special mention to Neil Jukes who has been our rock from day one of our nightmare, THANK YOU doesn't sound enough.
We as a family have agreed with all due humility and heartfelt thanks to accept the Club honour of a Life membership for Andrew on his behalf
We say goodbye to Andrew at noon today at Howe Bridge Crematorium with a drive past the LSV, unfortunately only 60 people will be allowed inside the Crematorium anyone not specifically invited but again sorry you will not be allowed inside, those are the current COVID rules, could I ask for those who can't attend just perhaps to have a moments meditation not only for Andrew but for all those affected by this terrible virus. Please if you do attend at The Crematorium or the LSV ensure you keep to COVID social distancing, and wear a face mask.
There will be two speakers at the 'service' our David on behalf of the family and Mike Latham on behalf of the club and fans, I thank them in advance. Lastly family floral tributes only please, for those wishing to make a donation I have asked Hannah Forbes the manager of the foundation if she could arrange a charity or way of making donations to charity she has kindly agreed and details will be put out in the near future of how to donate, thank you in advance.
Sorry to go on, I will wrap it up now, but I will say that rugby league folk are the salt of the earth and again thanks for rallying round us in this sad matter.
