| Same 17 as last week. If you play well you stay in the team. If you don’t play well you lose your place. No one from last week deserves to be dropped. No matter who you are, you have to fight to keep your place in this side. If the players know this is the deal, then they go on the pitch with the right attitude. Jarrod will have to bide his time and when his opportunity comes he has to make sure he doesn’t lose his place. That goes for the rest of the squad too.

| That was a step up even from last week, another great team effort.
Forsyth came in for AJ and scored two and did very well under high balls and with his off loads but he proved himself very capable last season.
Although Ben got MoM I though Woods played the better out of the two.
Our forwards are immense. Jordan is a man reborn after some brain fades last season.
As to the game; York are a very well drilled side and, despite the scoreline, were very good in defence, even if I personally felt the ref allowed them more time in slowing the PTB.
An arm wrestle in the first 15, Mason going off and not returning with a head check, so I'd expect to miss next week. Greg limping off but under his own steam so that is a worry. When Thornley went down it looked bad but he seemed to just walk it off.
Following last seasons close defeats to York they were a side not to be taken lightly and I felt the team played close to the full 80 minutes without switching off as you can.
Couldn't actually pick my own MoM as too many to mention.
Under 3000 though for attendance did seem odd, seemed more than against Sheffield ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Long season and some interesting results this round too but we look very, very good.

| A pretty faultless performance against a solid team who we completely outplayed. Brilliant under the high ball. Solid in defence - they never looked like scoring and clinical in attack. We look like a very good team lacking only perhaps real pace.

| A high class performance today and a pleasure to witness - this is a bench mark to aspire to going forward.
Quality 1 thru 17 and we have quality players still waiting desperately to get their chance.
JD has some difficult decisions going forward - credit it to him for not making unforced changes to his selection today. The guys who have the shirts are playing very well.
Batley in the Cup on Friday gives him (and us) the opportunity to assess the quality of those who haven't yet had their chance. With Gregg McNally and Nathan Mason picking up knocks today there are opportunities to give game time to other guys.
Apart from not risking the guys carrying knocks how about picking Sammut and Riddy in the halves and giving Shaw, Mullen, Field, Brooks and Spencer a run.
P.S. A very important negative that still needs to be addressed - we are still, week-on-week conceding avoidable and soft penalties - this will come back to bite us sooner or later if it is not corrected.

I thought the ref was more relaxed in York slowing the ptb than Leigh.

| I enjoyed listening to the game and I’m really looking forward to seeing the game on LCTV. It sounds like Reynolds and Woods had really good games again and the whole team played well as a group. Early doors of course but JD seems to have got the team ticking and ready to set a solid foundation over these opening games. London and Toulouse and Fev also seem to be rolling early, so it every game is vital.
Great start lads, keep it up

I agree - the referee should have penalised York much more - he let them delay the ptb all game. York were also frequently offside and were allowed to get away with it. Perhaps this is a positive for us - we put them under so much pressure they were forced to resort to these tactics.
However, the fact remains that we can only control our own penalty count and we have conceded 30 penalties in our 3 Championship games. In my opinion this number is far too high and puts us under unnecessary pressure.
Fortunately our defence has thus far been exemplary - a major factor in putting our opponents to the sword.
I suggest that a reduced penalty count would result in less defending and leave us with even more energy for attack. This will be crucial going forward when we are up against the likes of London and Toulouse.
It is early doors but I believe our current squad has the power and ability to go all the way this season.
