My two pence whether you like it or not.
Context. I contribute to LISA, TSYD & SuperLeigh Lottery + I have put my £25 in to sponsor 2 players & a coach this season *my choice* I have not & will not be renewing my ST this year *my choice* , well, I could have renewed my ST but a fairly recent change in circumstances means that I would then have to cancel all of my other contributions, so partly choice partly circumstance.
This season I will miss a few home games, as I do most seasons, however in previous seasons I have used quite a few days from my annual leave, something I am not prepared to do at our current level, hence no ST but I can still support the Club through other avenues & I will still get to about 70% of home games & 4 or 5 away !
If fans choose a ST alone & zero other contributions it doesn't bother me. If others contribute in other ways but pay on the gate as they go then ditto.
Do I feel the Club could be run better ? Yes.
Do I feel I can change how it is run ? No. *short of a lottery win & a Directorship/Ownership in the Club*
Do I think the Club have played a game/been dishonest regarding McNally ? Absolutely I do !
However, my take is this, the Club have seen on FB etc the groundswell in supporter mood & willingness to contribute & see the comments on getting McNally back & have utilised/exploited this to swell the coffers to sign further players *knowing the McNally deal is already signed sealed & delivered !
Part of me thinks this is disrespectful to fans, dishonest & unethical but another part says "yeah, box clever".
TBH, though I like Greg & sympathise with his personal situation I would rather sign a promising young FB possibly on a smaller contract than Greg might command but if he wears our shirt I will support him.
As others have stated here, it's all down to choices or personal finances ATEOTD & as the Club Owner has pulled his funding then personally I am happy to make extra contributions to stabilise OUR CLUB !!!

Lisa are now 200 members better off than a week ago, that's 200fans who wanted to help their club by putting in an extra £5 per month, the great thing they have done is make the ISA much stronger going forward and the club to project much higher income from this stream

True mate.
LISA were still stuck in the early 80's, you could print a PDF form to then write on & deliver to a LISA member or go to a market stall & write a form out but you couldn't quickly & easily click a link & subscribe !!!
Now & mostly due to fan pressure on the FB page LISA have upped the ante & moved to the digital age.
An online Fans Player Sponsor Group was set up on FB & quickly sold out of the initial 50 places available & subsequently was opened up again, the group had raised enough funds in one day to sponsor 1 player & now sponsors 2 & a coach.
The success of this group no doubt also gave LISA the added drive to change & modernise & to give them credit they have gone all out to drive recruitment & been successful too. |

The last time we had a sizeable increase in membership was when Arthur ( bless him ) had to pull out his support , be great to see Gregg wear the shirt gain
