| Quote ColD="ColD"And a grand job he has done IMO to retrieve the situation, but based on your comments (which most of us very much appreciate) then lessons have not been learned. Surely we need some structure, and we seem to be signing people settled in a PT environment - do we scrap them all off again next year, that works well'"
Let’s hope the approach will be a little more subdued than that, I personally would be happy to see some funding again in 12 months or so when it’s right to go again. But we don’t wanna see a complete overhaul again and end up back like This if we don’t go up, my suggestion would be to build this season, add a few more players next season who are better and build slowly as such with money we earn.
Once Toronto are out the way and Widnes if they fail to go up lose a lot of the funding that they have this year. We wouldn’t need a squad that is all bells and whistles to go up in the new structure

| Similiar situation to Widnes and Ste O'connor. The club apparently still owed SOC £350,000 which he sat back and took his bit when and as he could. I'm understood the Kevin Brown transfer fund went his way and we were never really able to invest into the first team squad. He's moving on though with the rest of the board and it looks like we're getting Luke Backhouse, a local young businessman who wants to plow money into Widnes. He's very ambitious so I think we will have a very good team in the years coming, that being said, money doesn't buy instant success like DB and Koukash have found out
Glad you's are back on your feet though, he's done great things for your club but it got into a bit of a mess. Look forward to my trip to Leigh and the Blackpool bash.

| Leigh RL are only ever going to be sustainable with 6/7,000 + attendances , in fact it is 10K if the truth to be told
So the question is , how do you get to that level of support ?

| Quote mish="mish"The last couple of years have been littered with ex players and staff who have been treated shamefully and whilst most people just care about the team they support I would only support a club who looks after it's staff in a respectful way '"
So if I am reading this correctly, you no longer support Leigh RLFC due to its current custodian? I assume from that then you no longer come and watch the team or support the boys in the shirt ?
Whilst I respect your view, it is also a 2 way street. I would be inclined to understand what you felt when say.
Paul Rowley, substantiated the Toronto job rumours and walked out on his contract , 7 days before the season was about to commence leaving the club and team without a coach. Or say,
Ryan Brierley engineering a move away whilst contracted to the club, at a time when he was it's only recognised fit half back, forcing Ridyard to play with broken ribs, or when,
Bob Beswick, who Derek agreed could move to Wigan for sentimental reasons in return for a nominal transfer fee, declared himself unavailable for team selection the remainder of his 12 month contract due to injury, when Wigan refused to pay the fee, (unlike Derek, who paid Warrington to bring young Highams home) Or when,
Jake Emmit who pleaded for a release from his Leigh contract for a once in a lifetime experience to travel the world, which Derek agreed to, only for him to subsequently sign for Toronto.
I could go back through the lengths of time, but it's Leigh RL I support, the boys on the field, not Derek, not who is on the board, not Jack Hilton, Not Brian Beaumont, but the boys wearing the shirt of Leigh RLFC at 3pm on any given Sunday.

Harold, I understand your sentiments and I'll see you at the front of the queue for season tickets. (providing our recruitment goes beyond 14! ) I am also grateful that a way forward has been found, that doesn't appear to have terminally damaged our club.
However, I would take issue with what has been said about the Ryan Brierley saga, in particular. I am confident that there was another side to the "spun" version of events that the club reported. I suspect, but am not sure, that was also the case with the Rowley departure. (and I was certainly not his number one fan!)
Some of the utterances in the recent, lengthy statements from the club, particularly when 'blaming' other parties, just don't stack up. I guess I'm from the camp that believes life is too short to hate anyone, but I'm also convinced that there are nearly always two sides to a story!
Roll on tomorrow's announcements!

You know I have always felt you have never experienced true praise unless it is forthcoming at 2am in the morning. Cheers young Adrian.

Good Evening Alan, this all maybe so. However I remember going to Warrington for a pre season friendly. I remember it vividly, firstly all the talk pre match was that Rowley had been offered a head coaching role at a new venture in Canada. In Canada no less, by heck I thought, Canada, no it was not April the first. Umpteen people told me that on that day, secondly I remember young McNally being carried off in front of me, stood as I was in front of the try line in the corner of the terraced end.
Brierley probably pushed his luck, possibly badly advised granted, knowing his position was strong as the club's only fit half back, and the club called his bluff. I did not like what pursued in his statement, it caused untold damage to the club and every bit of it was unwarranted and unnecessary.
