I think that was blue & white tape around it saying "Police" on it, maybe it was another crack den ? |

The ground was situated behind the top end of Rugby Rd / Henry St apparently. |

The Blue 'Heritage' Plaque is exactly where you say, as you walk round the corner into Rugby Rd, it is on a lower garden wall by the pavement.
It commemorates the first match in the Northern Rugby Union, very close to this site v Leeds in 1895. |

Still lives round here doesn't he, but not sure it ended on good terms  be a good signing but didn't really rip up trees at Bradford- injured most of the season |
