Grundy hill estates were the owners of Hilton park and give the rugby club a 99 year lease, all monies collected on match days went to the rugby club that was in 1997,I know they ran the football club{and that went bust},but the sale of Hilton park and other land was the reason the sports village was built, and I may be wrong but I went to one meeting and the main land owners were Wigan and Leigh collage.so maybe Grundy hill still have a stake in the sports village.
