| Quote: GUBRATS "For LRLFC , read ' Sporting Club Leigh ' that's the ltd company that currently operates as Leigh Centurions , I assume the majority of shares are currently owned by Derek
Now if Derek wanted to he could have a share issue meaning a set number of shares are made available for new investors to purchase
The problems then arise when the club then needs more money to operate , ie pay some bills , in theory all the shareholders then are obliged to ' cough up ' a set amount per share
Now then ' when some are willing/want to , and others aren't able/want to , you have a problem
For stress free running of a club , no more than 2 primary shareholders will work long term , and in theory they both need to be rich enough for their investment to be incidental to their affluent lifestyle ( essentially just a hobby )'"
I agree, no more than two major shareholders running the club. If there’s more there will be fall outs & disagreement s. We’ve had some great times over the past few years with Derek at the helm, but we now need stability. It’s no use an investor coming on board with the sole aim of super league - no matter the cost then leaving if it doesn’t work out. Perhaps we need someone to spend a reasonable amount of money & we become a mid to upper championship team (like featherstone, Halifax, batley) with no real chance of super league. BUT with long term stability.

Hence there is a new deal on the table, which includes the club and thats me not going any further.'"

And that goes for the MP as well. And Burnham can do one as Mayor of Greater Manchester, and President of the RFL, plus whatever other pointless titles he has accumulated!'"
Wave a camera and they will come.
Ricky Bibey = cack.
He's no good - the lad is huge but couldn't bust through a wet paper bag. He was crap at Wigan, he was crap here, and christ knows why Saints then signed him. Predictably, he was crap there as well.
He's now where he belongs, in NL1.
:White Backgrounds/Gonzo the Great.gif |

| Quote: Harold Rigby Jnr "Sorry to interupt but on the subject of Peter Kay(e)'s LSV exclusive that next season Leigh will be playing home games in Atherton, well it will not be at Atherton Colleries AFC and you can take that as official.
Peter failed to check if the pitch, actually conforms to the RFL minimum size requirements. A glaring error.
It does not. It is officially short, unless he is including the fences at both ends as the actual Try dead ball line.
Other than that, and I having far to much time on my hands, it was not a bad effort for him.'"
A glaring error is if you dont pay your rent out you go

| Quote: Mr Dog "Until the recent development at Fev's ground their pitch was by some distance shorter than the official minimum (although despite rumours to the contrary virtually maximum width) and I believe there are several other grounds that don't meet the supposed minimum dimensions either (including that of at least 1 SL club) so I doubt what you say can be taken as any sort of proof that Atherton couldn't be used.'"
Ignore the minimum stuff, the laws only stipulate that [i"For adult games the dimensions should be as near maximum as possible to the dimensions stipulated."[/i ie 100m tryline to tryline (+6-11m in goal) and width 68m

| All very interesting, you are in the same boat as Fax, don’t own the ground so cannot use it to generate income, you could have 6000 crowds who half buy a beer and a pie and you get nothing from it. It’s a very difficult position to be in and only getting gate money makes it even tougher, especially if you have to play 5-6 games away in a row.
On the player front, all your FT players may not get a new contract if you go part-time as that would cut the number o f available clubs again, and if the same happens at Widnes then there are even fewer FT posiotions available. I’d be pretty annoyed if my company decided to stop paying me, these guys are not on footballers wages and therefore I doubt they have thousands stashed away, it’s a short career and somebody potentially looking to take around 10% of your career earnings off you isn’t funny.
Good luck and I hope we see you playing again next season.
