Leigh Centurions owner Derek Beaumont has issued the following statement
Ok Mooky, it was only my opinion,I really thought Derek would have toughed it out,granted in not the same way this season has gone,it is a very sad day.Myself I will be there on Sunday and next season with my season ticket whoever is in charge.
This news will be music to the ears of the Doom mongers,but hopefully we have still got the die hard fans who will join ranks,and regroup,it may take time.At least you know YOU was right and I was wrong.

I'm not about d**k measuing, I just think all the predictions I said will come true, and it really will be the start of a new era. Unless there is a minor miracal on Sunday, then we might have a new chairman, coach potentially (although I think Purtill should stay), a whole set of new players which isn't great and ultimately, a bank balance divided by 10!
How many games do we have remaining? I heard a rumour 12 players have found new clubs which would leave us without a team (I have no reference for it though, just word of mouth).
