Quote: GUBRATS "As I said ' dumb ' rugby both tactically and individually
Yesterday and last week [ even the match at Batley ] the gameplan is fairly simple , wear down your opposition , they are part time RL players , retain the ball , force them to defend and they will collapse
In our last 2 matches when the requirement was to build up our points differential , did we once form a scrum to stop the clock ? the longer you have to score points the more points you can score
Not rocket science
we also display a complete lack of imagination at times , just once yesterday did we ' load ' one side at a scrum , Swinton did notice but still left themselves a man ' down ' on the open side , we shifted the ball quickly , and scored'"
Unfortunately, the players weren't able to follow this game plan. Poor attitude in defence since Blackpool and poor last tackle plays. How many times have our pivots been caught in possession on the last tackle? KP has given these players freedom to play what they see in attack, unfortunately there are no rugby brains on the pitch.
KP has done well to keep us in contention, cannot forget we've had to win at Fev, London, Toulouse and at home to Fax to keep the season alive. Unfortunately, he's been given an impossible job. If he was able to recruit a half back early in the season, we'd be top 2.
