Verbally abusing the referee is completely unacceptable, Dawson’s red card was 100% deserved and he should be sitting a good few games out with a suspension too.

I would have no complaints at all about a ban Ian. He was an idiot, and fully deserves a suspension.The frustration is, (and presumably was with Dawson) that the ref missed a blatant holding back on Dawson, that let the Leeds guy stroll in. I would remind people that Darcy Lussick was shown yellow, in Toronto's game at Warrington, for "foul and abusive language towards a match official." Sin binning was considered to be sufficient punishment. Now I believe Dawson should be suspended, as should Lussick.

Dawson will be looking at a long ban, no doubt about that.

I accept that the try scored was 'Illegal' and that he was frustrated by an evening of tough calls from Kendall following Brian McDermotts inexcusable pre match comments on the refereeing required last night but there is no condoning that. None.

The problem is Chris Kendall is nowhere near experienced or good enough to be anywhere near a professional game....

Its just the RFL are struggling for numbers, so he is deemed the "best of the rest".

Said as soon as he was listed to ref us he wouldn't do us any favours. McDermots comments didn't help, and you can't really argue with the sending offs. But, whilst refs of course have to have a confidence about them, his seems to be an arrogance. Not just the Leeds game, but every time I watch him it always has to be about him getting the attention, doubt he's ever played the game because he seems to have no concept or logic from a players point of view.

Using that last try as an example, why the heck could he not go to the VR, the linesman seemed to highlight it to him, it's clear something had gone on at the ruck - and that's not condoning Dawson's actions in any way shape or form.

Totally agree Col., also with joanne. There is a thread on the VT about why the game is on the decline. This is one reason why folk don't turn up to watch. Many people have told me, they look who the ref is going to be, and especially when his name (Kendall) turns up, they won't go and waste their money. And that is a fact. He was also the VR when he gave Bradford that try at the summer bash when they were a metre offside. Even the commies couldn't believe what they were seeing.

Perhaps we struggle to recruit people to become referees, because of the abuse they receive from low life fans. As a result of verbally abusing referees, the standard of referees becomes lower.
