Quote: Alan "It will be interesting seeing how Purtill goes. He has a lot of experience as assistant at Huddersfield and Saints, has been head coach for England Knights, and is, I believe, highly respected in the Game.'"
He has already given a great interview about the academy set up and what he would do if he was gaffer at the RFL....
hopefully, now he has been given the opportunity to put his own ideas and theories into play we will see some results ( as long as KC isnt pulling the strings calling for 5 drives and a safe kick )
in my humble opinion (and experience ) most assistants in whatever industry have a sound knowledge of whats is needed/expected, and are already aware of, and are good at moderating, the mood amongst the troops as they tend to be the go betweens. They also tend to have their own ideas how things `should` be done and the really good ones given a chance, pick up the ball and crack on....
With Mickey re-signing and bringing a much needed leader back onto the pitch and Purtill free to bring fresh ideas into the gameplan, i for one am looking forward to some exiting rugby
