the lads are really struggling with injuries at the minute

If we can’t get 17 lads from leigh to play for the academy it’s a bad day in my opinion when I was playing we had kids willing to wear the jersey

All the lads are willing to wear the jersey , however the academy is linked with the college.

It is a cat 3 academy.So this is the first step into creating a stand alone academy.

No pleasing some folk,they moan when we don't have an academy,then moan when they get one going.

All I’m saying his that’s its diabolical that we can’t field a team to compete to many outsiders in the team this is my opinion some might not agree but as a past player I know how I felt to play yoy at to be on top of your game to get picked. This is what I’m getting at if we don’t do it proper then why bother playing with 11 lads every week will surely dishearten the lads that want to make a go off it we need to make sure of numbers before making fixtures. Who’s idea was it to organise a fixture knowing we was light of players surely common sense should prevail

These lads N the led academy still need paying.. there isn't enough money in rugby league for teams to sustain first teams never mind academy's. if I was 16 out of school I wouldn't be lining up to be paid pittance playing for a academy with no sure fire career in front of me I would be concentrating on getting a steady job and future. Until big investment comes into the sport as a whole we aren't going to run academy's/reserves. The owners haven't got bottomless pits of cash to throw at it
