Its getting the balance right - on field v finance. Good crowd was on considering very little away support. I bet DB was the most nervous in the ground considering the money he has put in to get us to SL, knowing he would need to do it all over again. If only we could have clung on to stay up and built on our 1st season. If we miss out on promotion next season, will DB keep making up the short fall? Until RL have FT league below SL, finance should play an important part for clubs progressing rather than just on field.

The current format is harsh. 12 teams in SL, and bottom 4 go in play off league to battle to stay up. With jobs on the line. If this happened in the ordinary workplaces, John "the Marxist" McDonnell would be all over it.

There has to be a way for a team in the championship to get into SL, consequently a SL team will drop down which ever format is picked. Unless we are talking about licencing again.

Centurino, you asked about were people in favour of the MPG?I answered I WAS,I didn't say it was right, as has been stated SKY dictate and control most of what happens in professional sport ,but they are the Paymasters look at what they put into Football ,and to an extent RL without Sky money the players would be on very small contracts at both Sports, the MPG is car crash Rugby no doubt, but we all know the rules ,we didn't complain last year,I stand by what I say other ideas may be brought in but for me we can't have the sterilised Rugby outcome of the NRL.

Agree, really good shout from prop. If Leigh had 12 months grace to acclimatise to SL right across the club, it must be worth 4-5 additional wins in the subsequent year.

NP Charlie, there is no right or wrong of course. I always look forward to and respect your valuable comments mate. It's just good to see what people think and get a good debate going. Seeing Higham live on TV in distress was not a good advert for RL though. And ultimately we all love this great game and want it to flourish for years to come.

Centurino, I respect and value everyone's comments on this Forum,I do agree the sight of Mickey Higham obviously upset wasn't good , I felt for the bloke,he's LEIGH through and through,as you rightly say we all love this great game,but at times we don't share the same opinions,it would be boring if we did.
It would be interesting to have a Poll about the MPG .

I don't care about that , I do at times try to be lighthearted about some situations, however the MPG is not one.
I will however buy a season ticket in the West Stand as soon as they are on sale,and hope the lads are back in SL ASAP. Keep posting.

Excuse me for having an opinion.If you can bother to find previous post and not this one I have always been against this million pound game.Sports being competitive are won over seasons in all other sports.We did have chances in the other games but one in particular was decided by a video ref giving a try when the ball hadn't been played yet a week or so later the same person disallowed a try for not playing the ball,As for sneaking out early im 69 and have watched and supported Leigh through thick and thin since being 11ish.No doubt you are to young to remember the days Barrow played Friday night and there were no motorways to get there,so it was getting on for 4am before we got home.Never once have I left a game early so unless you know different do NOT infer I do

People are saying they want P&R, but they dont want the million pound game as its messing with peoples livelihoods jobs etc.

Excuse me but, isn't playing in a league with P&R exactly the same thing? had this been the last round of the season, and leigh(or an other club) been needing to win on the last day to stay up? you're in exactly the same position, jobs in question, mortgages and lives affected, and you probably still have mickey higham (or an other player) being interviewed and upset on the pitch.

If you want P&R, this is what you're gonna get.

We're not a big enough sport to finance and support regular relegation, thats why i'm in favour of licensing, i know clubs below don't like it as it appears to be a closed shop, but as with the comments made by the fev chairman the other week, its one thing looking in and another being in the middle of it,you really dont' realise the money thats needed to invest in runninga competitive mid table club, never mind a club thats challenging at the top. i don't think fev are anywhere near ready to operate at a super league level.

I agree Mr cat. But neither were Leigh 2 years ago.... and have been found wanting this year. Stuff changes.
But as said before, if p&r is pulled, I'm done.
