Heard today that at the end of the season our recruiting will be slightly different to last years where we bought as many forwards as we possibly could and the odd back on a one in one out basis.

Apparently we will be releasing all our backs (apart from Langi who will be moved to second row) and running a full-time 26 man squad made up entirely of props and second rows.

Degsy already in talks with EVERY championship club with regard to buying the complete coaching and backroom staff from every team in the league. #LTID

Lets hope the community clubs feel the same way.

Coleman doing 18s at leigh miners next season

Leighs first Academy in 1991 was Leigh East under 16s, a couple from Miners and a scattering from Blackbrook. Kev Anderton, Lloyd Pugsley and Keith Latham blended together a good squad of lads for whom Leigh benefited by having 3 good Pros who had good Careers.

Unfortunately, some of the Leigh East Boys got poached by Warrington, Saints and Wigan. It didnt cost heaven on earth to do this and it needs to be re-instated, quick !

On a coaching front, we have far too many fingers in the pie. Utilising some of our existing coaches to assist an Academy would seem the way to go. Alan would be an asset to that as the Leigh East Coaches came over in 1991. There should be no difference and would help the kids settle in.
