First let me say I agree totally that the referee was in a poor position but unfortunately it doesn't seem to matter to the rfl.
Two cases, Hock at Salford chases a kick in goal collides with Thomasson who takes to social media makes a joke about his whistle being injured, Hock Six game ban. Carney at Huddersfield this season standing still Childs approaches him Carney puts his forearm out two game ban.
If you see the Gale one he runs to the referee and puts his hand on his shoulder to dispute a penalty charge = A the sport really needs to able to distinguish between deliberate and accidentall/poor positioning by officials.

Chris Houston's steamroller obviously carried mitigating circumstances and deemed unpreventable/unavoidable collision. Neither deliberate or reckless. Gregg didn't have any mitigating circumstances he was deemed to have deliberate contact. The problem is the charge, two different scenarios but the same charge. There is no rule for moving a ref who is obstructing play other than deliberate contact.
This is the stuff that needs to be addressed by the desiplinary review group that was set up.

Quote: Harold Rigby Jnr "Everyone is surely missing the point here.

There was no hearing or case for the defence to be heard as Gregg McNally pleaded guilty early.

Houston defended his charge and the panel ruled in his favour as they would have done for McNally. Simple as that.'"

Do we/you know who advised Gregg to submit the Guilty plea? There is absolutely no disputing Gregg came into contact with the Ref! Don't forget Gregg couldn't shout; get out of the f@@k@@g way, because, he would have been binned for foul and abusive language as his colleague Gaz Hock had, the previous week!
The correct way to address the Referee is; excuse me sir, would you mind awfully moving! It seem to work for Sargent Wilson in Dads Army, didn't it icon_lol.gif

On a serious note, I have no idea who advised Gregg but it is yet another body missing for the Hull KR match on Saturday.

I agree with the not coming into contact with the ref in normal circumstances, but he's in the middle of 26 men.playing a tough game pumped on adrenilin. So surely he should know to keep out of the way of running players. Or keeping a safe distance

Who advised Gregg to plead guilty?

Quote: Bent&Bongser "Having now seen this, Bongser thinks it would be ridiculous to use the EGP - it gives no chance for sense to prevail. '"

'Twas not Bongser. He does, however, think that the advice from the club may have been based upon the expectation of a two to three game suspension. EGP reduces that to one or two. CCup game that nobody in Leigh wants or cares about either negates it completely or contains the damage to a single match.
