I couldn't go back to how scrums used to be. As a player it was great, but not good as a spectacle with collapsing scrums etc.

As for touchdowns, its the video referees that started all that nonsense. Looking at frame by frame, and just because a player didn't cut their nails that morning the try is given. They would never have control of the ball like that, and any other part of the pitch would be given knock on. The video refs also got daft cancelling good Trys not long back with obstructions/interference - this was the other extreme looking for slightest excuse to cancel good trys.

Just make the decision on field and stick to it.

You have a ref, 2 TJ's and a VR, and we still get bad decisions. There will always be human error, so let the refs do the job they're supposed to. Watching replays a thousand times is infuriating (especially when it's followed up by Cummins trying to convince us that the decision is always correct!)

Can Bongser just remind everyone that Leigh's progress in the Eights last year really took off against Salford. In scenes late on that were reminiscent of the last days of The Alamo. The VR arrived on time (unlike the cavalry in the film) and Bongser hasn't heard a single whine of bad call from any Red. Techno tick here.
