I don't think it's entirely coincidental that the Toronto Wolfpack came into existence the very week the rules allow you to approach players out of contract at the end of the season. Hence Mr Morals & Integrity's instance that he couldn't have done anything wrong as he wasn't coach (at the time) of a team that didn't exist (yet).
I can imagine what could have happened. Paul approaches Derek and says "I've had this fantastic offer I really want to take up, I'm going to be head coach of Toronto." & Derek (quite understandably) gets very angry and says "Can you [much profanity] desert us to go to a
ad language] League 1 club a [wash your mouth out with soap] fortnight before the biggest & most important season in Leigh's recent history!" Quite possibly said something he shouldn't too. Paul's probably then gone off in a huff, imagining himself to be the victim after his (deserved) telling off, at the fact the club hasn't given him full blessing to walk out when we need him most.
In the end I think Jukes is doing a better job anyway. Seems to have a much better understanding of squad rotation & giving players time to fully recover from injury for when you need them most.
